Nice Matte Coating
I've read some reviews claiming this to not dry matte. It definitely does, so if that was a problem it no longer is. I absolutely love the soft look of the matte finish on painted leather. I added 4 to 5 coats over a few hour period and it dried great. Seems pretty scratch resistant as well. I wouldn't take a blade or a nail to it or anything, but reasonably resistant.

Brand name
I bought this too make my leather items have a glossy finish. I used it on a genuine black crocodile belt and after letting it dry overnight I noticed that there was some residue in some parts of the crocodile grain. But that may have been due to me not doing a better job of making sure it was spread evenly. It’s clear color in the bottle but like I said it doesn’t really dry clear like you’d think.

Good seal
Use this to seal acrylic paint on to leather. Works great! Can’t even tell it’s on there

Angelus’ Worst Product That I’ve Tried
The media could not be loaded. I want to preface this by saying that I adore Angelus leather dye and fillers. I’ve tried other dyes and fillers, but Angelus is superior. HOWEVER, this is pure garbage.I put this over a vintage leather bag that I had dyed black that was originally eggshell and after it dried for a few hours, I noticed some spots that looked like they were cracking. I thought maybe they just weren’t dry yet, so I waited and they were still these. I tried to buff it out with a cloth thinking that would work, but it started PEELING off. Like the exact same way that your skin peels after a sunburn. It’s awful now I’m trying to peel this crap off of my bag that I’ve been restoring for so long. Also, the consistency is like glue. It’s not easy to spread at all and turned out patchy because of it. The last issue is was pulling fibers out of my brush on the second coat and now I have those little wool fibers stuck in the coat. I usually use wool brushes to dye or paint leather to avoid brush strokes. I know the bottle says to use a paint brush, but this is just standard for me. The bottle also says to apply two or three coats before drying, but when I went back for the second coat, that glue like texture was even tougher to apply and this is what cause the fibers to be pulled out. I didn’t have any issues with this applying the first coat with a wool brush.Overall, I’m extremely disappointed in Angelus with this product because their other products are the best. They really need to work on this one and probably use Leather Hero’s top coat as a model product!

Works good on flat non flex surfaces
This product will work on flat non-flexible surfaces - wanted to create a hi gloss patent leather look on a pair of cowboy boots - some parts looked great some sections crackled - I ended up finishing the project with outdoor spray pain water base high gloss - it worked amazingly. in short: only use this on projects that are not flexible. Make sure its super clean and shake it well - i did 4 coats
