The letter "M" indicates "Medium/Regular/Normal Width Footbed" and accommodates Regular to Wide footbeds. Please note: Birkenstock makes the Mayari Sandals intentionally roomy for added comfort so they tend to run about 0.5 longer than usual and they are also wider than usual. Most people prefer it this way as the straps can always be tightened if needed!
