Runs slim
I am 6'2", 235lbs, wide shoulders, barrel chested, and I wear an XL and occasionally 2XL in shirts. I know most merino clothing runs small or slim so I knew I was taking a chance. Unfortunately this fits more like a slim XL or even an L. It is good across the shoulders with good sleeve length, but very tight across the chest and abdomen. It is the literal definition of skin tight on me. The good is it seems to be very well made and is handsomely packaged for the price. I already have a friend who will be buying off me instead, so no loss. Wish they made a 2XL as the price is hard to beat.

Order one size up...
...and it still may be tight. I wear size L with a 43" chest and I ordered the XL, and glad I did. It is not skin-tight but not loose either, just right for me as a base layer or wearing alone. If I had ordered the L it would have had to stretch to fit me based on the fit of the XL.It is well made, and looks good. The hood for me is just right. Minor quibble: You can't easily put a zipper pull on the zipper, it's just too small for anything but a very thin cord which I have not tried yet.I like it and would buy it again. But definitely one size up.

Slim and comfy
This base layer is slim, but it’s true to size. I wear small, and ordered this in small. Because it’s slim fit, I wouldn’t wear anything underneath it unless I order a size up. And it hasn’t picked up my body oder yet, which means the merino wool is doing what it’s supposed to so far. I spent all day outside in 18F ( -7C) weather, and this is a perfect base layer to use underneath a mid and outer layer. I forgot it was cold outside! And the hood keeps my head warm-ish, too. So, I bought a second one, and may buy a third in the near future. If you’re going to be active in it, you’ll get the most out of it by not wearing cotton underneath.

Best Sun Hoodie I’ve Found
I’ve been trying different sun hoodies for the past year, with this being the 6th one.The cut is exceptional for me, I am around 200lbs and 6’5”.The merino wool is far more comfortable and breathable than the synthetic options I’ve tried. Additionally the merino wool really does work at keeping the odor down if you choose to wear it multiple times between washing. My only complaint is a lack of more colors, because I do plan on buying a few more.

Runs small
If you like wool this company is the one. I will be phasing out Smartwool and going with 300 and Meriwool. A half zip base layer? Why yes and the zipper doesn't even touch the skin! Thumb holes that line up and don't twist the sleeve? Actually yeah. Double stiched seems? Hell yea. Actual base layer feel? Yup! Price that makes you think you just ripped THEM off? Yes. Just buy it already, you can get 2 for the price of one itchy Smartwool shirt.
