Updated review - lots of heavy metal with a great range of tone
My initial order turned out to be a third party warehouse scam (review below). Upon getting it posted, a representative of Saphue contacted me immediately, researched the situation and informed me that the junk I've received had nothing to do with their products or company.A month later I've decided to give these invaders a shot. I really like these pickups. More power of heavy metal sound than I've expected. Has a definite voice of its own. Very distinct tone on all three positions. I've split coiled them for more fast note soloing accuracy, but it's very articulate in both single and humbucker format.Bottom line. If you want to play heavy metal and sound great doing so please get these.____________Initial review:Formerly a huge fan of Saphue, I was very excited to find these and was eager to try them. Sadly what I've received was a pair of rusty used humbuckers. Fortunately I have returned them the same day and got refunded. Still, very disappointed.

Wow. Very Impressed!
Out of the hundreds of Amazon purchases, I finally decided to write a review. I wanted people to know that these are worth every penny. They actually do sound really good. You can not beat the sounds these pickups produce for the price. You simply can’t. If you’re contemplating purchasing these, let this review be a push forward, and just DO IT. I’ll happily buy more in the future myself.(I’m giving these a 5* rating for ease of install, but I’ve also done it many times before. They are not plug and play and basic knowledge of soldering is required)

Woah, ok
Threw these guys in my 20 something year old epiphone SG and am very impressed, I don’t like the natural sound of it, it’s a little muddy (could very well be because I installed it myself) but these sound amazing with high gain an distortion!

Great, but, do I hear a microphonic squeal?? EDIT.. nope, was other settings.
EDIT* Microphonic squeal is not the pickups's fault! The tone character is, okay I guess. Tuned right down the middle, meaning even on bass, mid, and treble to my ear. Maybe slightly leaning towards heavier on the highs. Very gainy, and punchy! Cleans work on these very well too.For a while, I had an undeniable LOUD squeal.. Even while palm-muting! Then I noticed, OTHER pickups were doing that, that didn't before.. Long story short, some settings needed adjusting.

It’s a clone of the SD Invader but….
These look like the Seymour Duncan invader but do they sound like the Invader? Aesthetics are 10/10 all the way but how do they sound? Honestly the sound isn’t bad but a bit thin sounding using CTS 500k Pots. I also did the orange drop cap to help with treble bleed but it didn’t seem to do much. Coil split on my set were not noticeable so I don’t find that feature useful. I rated these at 3 stars based on these merits and due to the fact when they arrived, the mounting tabs were severely bent upwards making straightening and mounting a bit difficult. For the $20 or $30 they cost it’s not a terrible set of pickups for an old project or kit guitar.
