Awesome tool. Well made. Sturdy construction. Helps me move logs around without killing my back. It could stand to have a little longer handle to get more leverage but I guess that would also lessen the strength of the handle

problematic
After reading the descriptions we were looking forward to receiving our new Woodchuck 5-in-1 Log Holder and Lifter. We already had a simpler ($29.00) log lifter from another source that was a bit too light duty for the logs we were handling.Opening the package, we found the Woodchuck is solidly built and beautiful. We really wanted to love this product. We did like the fact that the Woodchuck will hold a lifted log in a stable position allowing the user to release the tool completely. This is something our cheapo model will not do.Unfortunately, we had four problems with the Woodchuck that we have not had with any other log lifter.1) Whenever we carry the Woodchuck the clamping arm jams itself into a closed position and is very difficult to release requiring two hands or even tools to open.2) When we open the Woodchuck clamping arm all the way, it jams itself in a fully open position and is very difficult to get it to disengage requiring two hands or even tools to release.3) When we did manage to get the Woodchuck swinging arm in position to engage a log, the grabbing teeth slip, failing to clamp the log until we hammer the teeth into the log. Each of these three problems is irritating and time consuming.4) When we finally get the Woodchuck to engage a log, the Woodchuck does a good job of rolling and lifting but it does not lift a log very high (about 3 inches vs. 6 inches for the cheapo model). Not much clearance for cutting or placing a log underneath.Because of it's solid build and ability to hold a log in place this could be a very useful product. Unfortunately, in its current configuration it is a pain to use.

Excellent Design!
Excellent design and functionality. Would like it a little bit more heavy-duty.... but I break most of my tools. For an all-in-one, you can't beat it for the price!

A Great Time and Back-Saving Tool
Cutting up firewood is tough enough as it is. Save yourself some time and energy by purchasing this handy tool. In looking at the Woodchuck versus other similar tools, here are the advantages:-The tool is heavy duty and can leverage hefty logs over 20" in diameter.-The tool is made in the USA.-Again, it is well made of quality materials. The hook allows you to grasp the log and use the handle to roll it. The resting posts allow you to prop up the log for easy cutting. If you cut up a lot of firewood, this tool is worth every penny and is worth the extra money over a cheaper model.

Better Product Than Advertised
I had a tree company cut 26 large pine trees and lay them down in my large yard in the forest (for fire and wind damage prevention). Smallest was 12" and largest 27" diameter. I'm new to this, and had no help. I knew I'd need to be rolling a lot of really really big, heavy sections of trunk. Never saw one of these gadgets and certainly never knew anyone who had used one. I shopped all the various designs of log jacks and settled on this multifunction style. Well, I hardly ever write a product review, maybe 5 in the past decade. But I am so enthusiastic to praise the simple smart design of this thing. Bottom line is, yesterday I finally got up the nerve to tackle the three largest trees and without this log jack I'd still be working on them. If you've never used one, but dismember at least one larger tree a year, it's well worth it. I'm nearly 70 years old and for the first time in decades of occasionally cutting a couple trees for our firewood, I had no sore back after yesterday. This product exceeded my expectations more than most any product I've bought in many years. Get it. Thank it. Name it. You'll love it.
