Bombshell: The Pin-Up Art of John Gladman

Bought this book as I know the author personally and am in the book. John is an extremely talented photographer and I was excited to be a part of his project.

Great pin-up art of local models.

This is a fantastic book for anyone who's a fan of classic pin-up photography or art. Gladman's work is assembled in great style by Schiffer in yet another VERY high quality book, excellent printing quality and the photos and layout are outstanding. Gladman's photos are fantastic, and he's done a great deal of graphic artwork mixing in with them to give many of the photos a surreal quality - blending a lot of classic paintings by Gil Elvren, Vargas, and Petty, just to name a few, with beautiful live models. You will have trouble with many of these figuring out where the real photo ends and where he created the rest with CG graphics - it allows for the pin-up paintings of the forties and fifties to literally be brought to life.HIGHLY recommend this book, get it while you can, these always seem to go up dramatically in price once they're gone. The models are beautiful, the photographic work is outstanding, and you just can't ask for a whole lot more - John Gladman captures the retro pin-up look about as perfectly as anyone I've seen so far.

Alberto Vargas was an early inspiration to John Gladman, and Vargas' influence shows in every one of John's Bombshell photos. I've been privileged to witness John create a few of these masterpieces, and his skill and artistry is apparent in each one. This is an excellent compilation of some of his finest Bombshells, and any bombshell fan will enjoy owning this book.
