Department 56 Accessories for Villages Halloween Crow Creek Covered Bridge Accessory Figurine, 4.72 inch

For years, I've been wanting to start a Dept 56 Halloween village, but the pieces are just so expensive that I kept putting it off. I finally broke down and ordered a few of the less expensive pieces. The covered bridge being one of them. It has a purple light inside the bridge, which I pretty much expected. What would be nice, though, is if these pieces had a timer, not just an ON/OFF switch. I don't understand why these pieces are so pricey. They're nice but there's nothing remarkable about them.

I grew up in Virginia with lots of old back country roads and stories of ghosts wandering about. This bridge reminds of those fun Fall memories and the purple light gives off a nice soft mysterious glow. Be careful opening the packing - there are two small ceramic end pieces that might fall out if upside down. Also be sure to set the main bridge on top of the end pieces! lol That makes it look like a raised bridge HAHA It took me a few weeks to realize this ;) I kept thinking it doesn't look like the picture and then one day it clicked.

I am very happy to add this bridge to my Halloween village. The lighting and colors are exceptional when lit, and when unlit the details are still Halloweeny excellent for daytime.For Dept 56 the scale is a little large compared to the Trick-or-Treat houses, although small to appropriate for figurines. I will be placing this away and down in my Halloween display to maximize it’s spookiness while keeping it from size-wise competing with my village houses.

I was concerned when I first pulled it out of the box because the light inside was flickering instead of steady, but when I actually added it to my village, light became steady. Maybe the LED just needed time to "burn in". Otherwise, this is a great addition to our collection. It looks appropriately spooky, especially in the dark when the light emanates from inside, providing the perfect haunted feeling. Next year, we'll add the Headless Horseman to finish the setting.

I am extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY pleased with this bridge! It is AMAZING!It is Halloween at my house 24/7/365(6 in leap year) and I am working on setting up my Spooky Town / Department 56 village. I will update this with photos soon!

you can never be disappointed with a Dept 56 product. the detail is amazing. the only reason i gave this a 4 rating instead of 5 is that it was smaller than I thought it would be. you will enjoy this.

A little bigger than I thought, a very nice piece. I have it on year round display!
