Who says a book on research methods can't be a page turner? I've taken graduate level course work on qualitative research and I now ask: why wasn't this book assigned as a reference? This is hands-down one of the best qualitative research reference books out there. Creswell writes extremely well, and the use of carefully-selected journal articles to illustrate the application of the five research methods is very helpful. This book has immediate relevance to my work. Although I purchased it only recently, I've used it a great deal already. I highly recommend this book if you want to know which approach best fits your research question, and which specific qualitative methods to use. This book is a very good investment.

I originally bought Creswell's book to introduce me to the different qualitative research approaches. Creswell's book is worth buying as it enjoys a number of merits: 1- Very user friendly layout. 2- Very straightforward and easy to understand. 3- The book guides through the steps of writing a research paper (introduction, research questions, etc.) 4- The appendices with example articles to illustrate the different methodologies are great. 5- Creswell provides a list of useful readings at the end of each chapter.

This is a staple for educational researchers.
