Perfectly fine product
This product seems perfectly fine and fit for purpose. The inner pouch is lined with waterproof/water resistant material that would prevent sand from leaking. I took the advice of another reviewer and added plastic bags inside for added security. I used *kiln dried* sand so it could pour more easily and wouldn’t be fermenting inside the pouches. Cheap sand is often wet in the plastic bag, and I didn’t want to start with wet sand.I found that the sand was about 1kg per *Imperial* 20 oz pint by volume. Stuffed to the gills, I could get 5 kg in each pouch for a total of 10 kg per unit, but it’s a tough stuff and fit at the end.I’m using these as anchor weights for battle ropes so the most weight was important to me, but if I were on set and using them for c-stands, I’d put in less sand. Stuffed with 10kg of sand, the units are fairy rigid and inflexible and I’d want more give to my bags on set. I might try 8 kg as my load for on-set work. They’d be more forgiving and it would be a breeze to load. The only improvement I’d suggest would be counter directional zips to prevent any leakage, as these units DO have 2 zippers, but they both close in the same direction, to the ends are next to each other and could be a weak / leak point if no inner bag is used.Hope this helps….

did the job
one of the bags had a failed internal zip, so could only use 5. They're also a little tricky to seal when they're filled to the brim (so we underfilled them to make it easier) but we wanted them to put up a tent on artificial grass and they helped serve this purpose over summer - not sure the weight would be enough for stronger weather but wouldn't be an issue usually!

Great value
We bought these to add to our stock - you never have enough sandbags right? We filled them with sand but took the time to put this inside plastic bags inside the sandbags. They are sturdy and extremely useful. We used them solidly over 35 days of shooting, studio and outdoor on location. They got wet (including a couple actually being used under water) and suffered no ill effects whatsoever. One review said they rot when wet p it is certainly not our experience. At this price they are unmissable so much so we have just ordered more. I did mention you can never have enough?
