Carry it with you!
I have a huge library of firefighting courses and manuals. Like college level textbooks. But whenever I wanted to learn something in its entirety, I bought a 6th grade level book ... yes, for grade school kids!Hemingway said it best: he wrote a chapter in one day, then spent the rest of the week toiling endlessly long hours to get it down to two pages! This is such a book.Reviewing fundamentals is the secret of everything in life. The more experienced you are at something, the more cavalier you tend to become. You need to review fundamentals the most. This book allows you to review fundamentals quickly, though it will still take a while for you to actually think about them. I have highlights on every page besides the author;s highlights, Why? Stuff I never want to forget.Do I know it already? Yes. Do I need to remember it under fire? Yes! Putting my ego aside, this is a GREAT book.A movie producer told me once that he is the best teacher of movie producing. He can't produce a movie worth #$%*, but he could teach it better than . It's all about creating sound bites that the students remember under pressure. Being under fire and under fire (!) are about the highest pressures I can imagine.Buy this book -- and give copies to your friends. It's cheap, and it could have save those 19 lives last week!

Outstanding
It a very good book for anyone who would like to understand wildland fire and what goes on before and after a wildland event.

Not worth the money!
Great little book with a bunch of one liners. But if you really want to learn the fundamentals of firefighting, you will have to look elsewhere. I was really disappointed.
