fit great with mac book pro
I could plug 2 of these devices in usb-c on the same side of mac book pro. This is the only device so far that I found and can do this. Also connecting disconnecting is very fast.rarely take longer time to connect thunderbolt when computer woke up woke up.as a minus: I bought 5 of these and one was defective. It wouldn't connect and I had to return it back

Ho-hum, variable quality
Having using Apple's Magsafe v1 and v2 connectors for years on various MacBooks, I was keen to enhance usability of my new USB-C MacBook with this Ansbell magnetic adapter. In summary, it's OK, but not great (as long as you get a good one).As others have mentioned in their reviews, the magnet could be a bit stronger. The right-angle design of the cable end means that the magnetic connection can easily be separated with a small lateral pull on the cable. The attachment to the Mac is much less robust than Magsafe connectors.A more serious issue is that the small 'nub' (the half that plugs into the USB-C jack on the side of the Mac) may be problematic. I bought two of the Ansbell adapters, so I could have charger + cable sets in two locations. One of the nubs fits so poorly, it can get pulled out of the Mac before the magnet connection breaks. On a number of occasions, I found the complete adapter (cable end + nub) lying on the floor after the cable had been jostled. Fortunately, the other nub snaps into the MacBook's USB-C jack quite firmly, with a satisfying click. Poor quality control at China Inc. Caveat emptor. The design of the status LED is inferior to that found on Apple's Magsafe connectors. On the latter, the LED glows orange while the MacBook is charging, then changes to green when charging is complete. Not so with Ansbell. It's green all the time (while connected to the Mac). There's no color-coding to indicate whether charging is complete or not. And I found that when using some 3rd-party USB chargers, the LED will be green constantly, even if the adapter is not attached to a Mac.So overall, a disappointment. But it is better than constantly plugging and unplugging the stock USB-C changing cable from the MacBook.I contacted the vendor about the defective/deficient unit. For some unexplained reason, they were unable to ship a replacement, but issued a credit for it. Full points to them for Customer support.

Almost as good as the original MagSafe connector
I am mostly happy with this. It usually stays connected, but I have had to reposition it a couple of times because the connection was lost. However, it generally works fine. And it has saved the machine from being pulled onto the ground at least once. So I am very happy that I bought it, I just wish the connection was a little bit better. But still very much worth the money. One thing to note is that it is limited to 87W charging (it does specify that in the description). The standard charge for my MacBook is 100W and I never expected the 13W would matter. However I was running the machine at max and it was drawing more than 87W so the charger got overwhelmed. The result was that all charging stopped through the connector (basically disconnect it) and it was just running off the internal battery. The battery was drawn down to 63% before I saw this. I switched to charging through the supplied Apple USB-C cable (not using this adapter) and it was able to both power the machine through the adapter as well as charge the battery (albeit slowly). I don't have an issue with this, but if you run your machine over the 87W limit, you should be aware of how this behaves.

fits nicely, sticks out a bit
2nd update - After contacting the seller about this issue, they promptly shipped out a replacement device! Their customer service was was very friendly and responsive. They got to me very quickly, and I had a replacement device within a few days. I had never gone through this process before on Amazon, and Amazon doesn't really make it easy. You have to click on the seller (mastertool) and then click the "Ask A Question" button. Message exchanges will be sent your account email, or can be found in Your Messages section of your account. It's really intuitive, but kudos to Mastertool and Ansbell for their prompt and friendly response. Upgrading my review to 5 stars because customer service means something to me. The upgraded design seems promising as well.UPDATE - after 8 months the magnetic part on the USB-C tip got loose and came off when i removed the charger. looking at the product page, they are aware of this issue because they have changed the design of the tip from being plug->plastic->magnet to an all metal design. This is supposed to have a 12 month warranty. I have contacted them, I guess we'll see if they respond. My product review will be updated again based on that responseHaven't been using this long, but I got this for my Lenovo Carbon X1 Yoga (3rd gen). It fits into either USB-C port quite snugly - it neither feels loose nor did I have to jam it in. It does not cover the other port while it is in use. when the charging end slips on, it gets a connection and starts charging (green light) right away, without jiggling or finding the right spot/angle.The magnet itself seems just right in terms of strength - it stays on, but breaks away with moderate force, and does not tug out the receiver end.My only concern (and this may be both a plus and a minus) is that the receiver end stick out just a bit. there's a little bit a "double lip" (I'll try and get some pictures). This means it sticks out just a bit further than some other brands. But it also means that it will be easier to get the receiver end out if I ever need to. On the other hand I have multiple usb-c port, so I'm not sure why I'd need to, but still if I ever do I won't need a special tool to do so as i can get my finger nails around this one without using string or tweezers or anything.I docked a star because of this and the plastic material it is made out of, but honestly, i would like to give 4.5 stars, Amazon won;t let me though.
