It certainly works!!!
This thing is so loud, that with a little effort one could hear me halfway to Jerusalem (and I live in Northern California).

It's not the horn it's you
Shofar are difficult to blow no matter which kind you get. It takes practice and technique to blow these. Your lips have to be set just right and vibrant correctly... YouTube videos on this and you will see... after about a half hour I was able to blow and get correct sound... but keep in mind the mouth piece is small so your lips have to closed off much more. If you don't cause your lips to vibrant kind of like an elephant sound you will not get sound. The sound is formed from the vibration of your lips when the air passes from your mouth through the Shofar.

Yes it works!!
At first I was disappointed but I did my research to understand how to use it!!! Just to make it clear you don’t just blow into it, blow into like you are playing a trumpet! I am so glad that I did some studying on it because I first thought that I got a bad horn, it has a small hole on the side of it, it’s made that way! I do recommend that some kind of instructions be sent with the horn for people who have never used one. I love mine!

A beautiful shofar
I’d never used a shofar before, but have had it explained to me. Getting this, I had no trouble producing a tone, though it’s higher pitched than I would expect. I’m having in issue with the smell. I had left it in my car, and when I came back (70 degree Fahrenheit day), my whole car stunk. I mean like a livestock/cat urine smell. It comes from the shofar. I’d been careful to only buy a “clean” product, so I’m very disappointed. Still, the function and purpose are there, and it is beautiful.

Arrived damaged
Hard stuff was inside that wasn’t a part of the shofar and a piece of the shofar was missing, broken out. It arrived damaged.

If this truly is a traditional shofar from Israel, it makes no sound.
This shofar makes no sound when blown and only air can be heard. It has become a tabletop display item. I had to order a display holder for it. More money!

I like it.
Has nice sound when I actually manage to play it, but most of the time I can't get a note.
