Seems to be a very good wool blanket
The blanket came in a plastic zip-lock-type bag. When I first opened it I gave the blanket a smell to see how bad it was. I had a somewhat strong petroleum-based smell. It wasn't a gasoline smell but more an oil or grease type sent. I put the blanket in the washer with some Woolite soap and some fabric scent pellets they sell to "freshen" your laundry. After the single wash, I hung the blanket out to air dry. The blanket did shed a little in that wash. But I think all the uncompressed fluff I collected from the washer drum and what fell off the blanket during drying would have fit in the crook of my palm. I did do a burn test on that fluff to see if reacted like wool and boy did it smell like burnt hair. The fluff never caught fire, it just singed but no flame was produced. So far after the first wash and air dry the blanket looks like it will be very good quality. It has good weight, but not a thick piled blanket. Overall I am happy with the purchace.

Tightly woven fabric, excellent color, and big
I bought this blanket to make a warm bathrobe because it's hard to find a robe that isn't skimpy and isn't made of (ick!) polyester fleece or microfiber. Fleece/microfiber don't breathe and for me it's like wrapping myself in a sauna. I don't have that problem with wool blends. It was the right size to make a simple, "T" shaped but capacious robe--two big rectangles and two smaller rectangles for the sleeves, with enough left over for a belt and a craft project or two. Lovely!

Purchased this to wear it as a cloak and I am satisfied. It is exactly as advertised.
