Better than low cost heated version..
Works well and no wear on the tip so far after multiple uses. Works better then the small/low cost heated version. Of course the full blown desoldering stations are superior if you're doing a lot of desoldering, but for occasional use, this is much easier and quicker to use vs. dragging out the full desoldering station for just one component removal.

Works really well
Out of all the cheap desoldering tools available here, this is probably the best. It’s large but as such has really powerful suction and will grab the solder blob if it’s anywhere in the vicinity. Made of plastic but it seems like it’ll hold up if you treat it well. After desoldering 10-20 joints, solder will build up in the tip and will block the plunger from going down. The best way to clear it is to gently run a drill with a 1/8 bit into the tip, and then push the plunger firmly to kick out the little hollow cylinder of solder. Super easy to use one-handed which was a complaint I saw in some other brands. Happy I picked this one.

Great when built right
Package undamaged, cardboard not creased. When I tried to use it I noticed rod was bent. I had to disassemble the whole unit and straiten the rod. Poor manufacturing QC. Now it works great, suction wise.

A Sucker That (Actually) Suck
I have wasted money on more expensive fancier metal suckers in the past but this has by far been the product with the most reliable succ ability that can take out all the melted solder out of a keyboard pad in one go. That said, the tip is absolutely NOT heat resistant and will start melting even with a slight accidental touch of a soldering iron. However, this can be to your advantage since you can shape the tip according to your needs. Plus the whole product is cheap enough that you can just buy a replacement if needed.

We used to use these where i worked - was happy i can still get them.
Building kit radios - old copper wire one conductor likes to break. Need the gadget for unsoldering.... they work good. We used them where i used to work.

Read carefully this thing is huge! Works as it should but it’s not a one hand operation.
Works good! But it is really large! Two hand operation to reset it.

Seems to work as well as expensive name brand unit
Having used this for about a month, I can say that it is pretty durable. The tip does wear, but so did the expensive unit this replaced.Sometimes it is difficult to take apart because the body can be rotated to a position where turning it 90° won't unlock it. Took a while to figure out that it can be rotated 180° in the opposite direction to get out of this locked all the time situation. So far, pretty happy with it.

Both sucks and doesn't suck
This thing is comically large and painfully bad. The opening is way too big, nothing gets sucked up in it. I am running through all of my solder wick because this thing sucks so much that it literally doesn't suck.
