A great trilogy, but can you stomach it?
This trilogy is worth reading, but I would caution readers to not take this decision lightly. You may find peace in understanding, but you may also lose yourself in the process. Choose wisely.

READ THIS BOOK
Cathal Haughian has offered up an articulate and exceptionally well researched premise: The age of capital is over. This "system" can not last. Infinite growth in a closed system is not possible or sustainable and Cathal has done the homework to prove it. This is the first book in the series of 3 and I would highly recommend that any thinking person read them all, multiple times. This volume slowly brings the reader to the understanding of how and why we are here. Written mostly in the Socratic method, the book often feels as though the reader is a "fly on the wall", listening to a conversation between individuals with more information and the ability to intelligently process that information. I've gifted copies as well, but be warned, you may blow someones mind.

This is a Socratic discussion between the author, using the alias P. Shitgenstein, and NOTaREALmerican, a banker, with asides from a character called Deadwood. The discussion is dense and at times difficult to understand, but compelling nonetheless. The thesis is that the world is controlled by the Sociopaths with the aid of lots and lots of BS shovelled to the Dumbasses, who get screwed every time. The corollary of the thesis is that the world could not be organised in any other way. This book is the first of a trilogy on the Philosophy of Capitalism. If "you can't handle the truth" don't read this book.

The author makes very good and valid points on the system driving the world
It took me a bit to get used to the style of writingBut then it flowed. The author makes very good and valid points on the system driving the world. The set of books is worth it for the multitude of connected ideas. Well done Cathal.

Must read!If you really want to understand the people behind the scenes that ultimately rule and run the world, as well as their motivations this is the book to get you started. Time was, the phrase "knowledge is power" meant something, unfortunately, now I think it should read "knowledge is protection/self preservation". Just as babies, when our eyes start to open we don't truly see for some time but we have to at least open our eyes first, right?Eagerly waiting for volume 2 to arrive.Cheers.

Eye opening 3 book read that explains (via multiple viewpoints) the history and present day dilema facing the world economy that requires a "reset." A must read for those who read the salmon-pink paper seeking to put the puzzle pieces together.

Pretty accurate description of behaviour in hierarchies
It describes power structures pretty will although it doesn't acknowledge that there are well meaning people out there. Unfortunately they almost always get pushed out of the way by psychopaths. It doesn't offer a solution to this situation because there likely isn't one - unless humans stop being human.

like taking a 2 by 4 to the head
If you've ever wondered why there is so much fraud and deceit in the world you'll find answers in this book... very thought provoking! It resonates with the rational mind and will wake you from your slumber... like taking a 2 by 4 to the head!Be careful though, this is red-pill territory... the truth shall set you free!

Required Reading to Understand "The Reset"
Do you believe you understand Capitalism and how it functions at a system level; or do you seek knowledge in order to understand it?If so, or even if not...I would suggest reading the Philosophy of Capitalism Trilogy. My background is Global Finance, graduated from a Top University, obtained my three letter certifications and have been dutifully managing financial assets for 24 years now for a major Global Bank. However, the more I learned, the more market experience I obtained, the more I realized that something was wrong at the System level. I could not quite put my finger on it as I did not fully understand it; but "BS" was being flung on a daily basis was it painfully obvious.Although instincts kept me remarkably unscathed during several major market drawdowns; I knew that these were all likely caused by the same underlying disease in the System, and the inevitable outcome will be far worst if left unchecked. However, I did not fully understand exactly what was causing the obvious instability beyond the oversimplified answers of too much debt, bad mortgages and a "greedy" Fed, etc.I needed to learn more, that which was not taught in school and not readily discussed openly even in Financial circles; thus enter The Philosophy of Capitalism Trilogy.Vol. 1; "The BS Machine" was instrumental in understanding the psychology of the players involved at the root of the system; which is critical in understanding the larger problem at hand.Vol. 2; "Before the Collapse" was critical in detailing what plagues Capitalism at a System Level from the perspectives of multiple Capitalists, with different viewpoints, from different regions and backgrounds.Vol. 3, "The Reset"; starts off with outlining the root causes of the issue with Capitalism, how they are related, and how imminent they are in starting a chain reaction leading to a global catastrophe of historical proportions. As such, there is an obvious urgency to dealing and mitigating the fallout from these critical System Failure issues (won't spoil it by telling you what they are). The Reset then lays out the two leading Solutions (hint: one is a Reset and the other I dare not say); and I guarantee you that although you may not like either solution (and would prepare to simply carry on the status quo), that this choice is not yours to make. It is thus of critical importance to understand our Global Order is failing and to prepare oneself for what is about to come.I will add that the Author does a very good job of mixing technical knowledge in all three books, with hypothetical conversations to add colour and a level of detail and understanding that would otherwise be impossible if the entire book was written in textbook format. This I appreciate as it added both depth and a willingness to keep reading well into the late hours of the night.I am grateful that I found these three books, as they were critical for me to fill in the gaps between what I knew (or thought I knew) and what I knew I did not know. They even touched on concepts I did not know, I didn't know. These books were last published in 2018, and the Reset Solution outlined in Volume 3 appears to have gone live in 2020 from what I see. If by chance you are curious to understand more of what will happen in 2021, you likely should read these books.

Candid, blunt, sarcastic and refreshingly honest. Waiting for more to read from the author.
Refreshingly candid with a simple premise that whilst yes sociopaths rule the world of finance/politics and anywhere else where there is money to be gained, it is simply an evolutionary advantage being a sociopath and one that we should expect in this capitalistic drive of humanity. Depressing but clear. Very funny in a dark and sarcastic way.Needs to be proof read better as there are several grammatical errors.

All hail our new leader Shittgenstein
A new world order is upon us!To realise the vision of our prophet, we must make Shittgenstein our new world leader.Everyone must buy a copy of his books and as one of the first true believers, it's only fitting that I am rewarded with nice gold bling as described in his manifesto. If you have any questions about our dear leader, you can ask me instead since, you must understand, his time is preoccupied with more important matters...Jokes aside, it's a decent book but contains a high dose of cynicism. You have been warned.

This book will set you straight
This book will tune you in to the way the world really works and your place in it. It is well written and thought out, reads like a conversation or discussion in which a Sage capitalist "Sets Straight" a younger man stating and offering up common misconceptions about how our current economic system works and who benefits. It will set you straight if you share those misconceptions and leave you wanting more. It will be validating if you understand the Sage capitalist and leave you wanting more. If it doesn't, just be happy with your self delusion. A must read and thorough understanding is necessary before attempting subsequent volumes.

this book totally hits the mark when asserting that both the political Right and the Left are corrupt, while the will the general public is caught in the middle with no way out, short of total revolution.
