Contains virgin lavender that is never re-rolled, which strips it of essential oils. Each stick is roughly 6" in length. Great for blessings and purifications. What is Smudging? To smudge is to spread the smoke of burning herbs over a person, space, or object for purification. The smoke carries prayers to Creator. This ceremony usually involves a feather or fan. If smoke is not allowed, smudging the oils for sage, cedar and sweet grass may be used as a substitute. This smudging kit honors the tradition of a “medicine bundle” and “To Walk in Beauty”. Smudging Tips:  Gently fan the tip of the sage with free hand until it begins to smoke. Blowing on sage can be considered disrespectful.  Only allow flame to stay lit just long enough to allow sage to smoke vigorously.  Clear yourself by crossing sage over your body from floor to head, front to back, and all around in a clockwise rotation.  Start at the most central room of the home and work your way out, smudge around each window, closet, or vent opening to spiritually “seal” them.  Say a prayer of your choice at each doorway, request that the room be sealed and protected.  Open the windows and allow the smoke to clear naturally, do not use forced ventilation.
