that was absolutely adorable
I was a fan from the first few pages.Avery is a manager of a restaurant and has dreams of owning the restaurant. Emmett is an owner of a construction company who wants to become mayor to help his city out. They strike a deal to help each other get what they want. There is a smidgen of enemies to lovers, funny banter, sweet moments and romantic gestures that make your heart go pitter patter. So very cute!! It’s nice when it is a standalone but there will be more books in the same town. Loved the ending and it definitely sets up for book 2. Definitely recommend to others to read.

Fake it til it’s real!
Avery and Emmett are goal driven and independent and that may be why his crazy fake marriage scheme appeals to her - they can both achieve an important goal…but she soon discovers much she believed about Emmet is inaccurate and he is SO hot! A funny, touching romantic comedy with a supportive family and a cast of characters in supporting roles as town residents!I really enjoyed the first installment of the Rhodes brothers and Queens Cove!

cheesy but good!
I enjoyed this book. It was a little cheesy, especially the quick romance. But I like the fact that even though there’s a conflict/twist towards the end of the story, there’s no third act breakup.

INFINITE STARS
You guys, I am absolutely obsessed with and blown away by this book!! Avery and Emmett are everything to me, and this was so funny and low stakes, even though the stakes are seemingly high. MILD SPOILERS: there was no third act breakup, no miscommunication, and even the third act *conflict* was brief and easily solved. I don’t know if you guys realize how much I appreciate that in a romance book. Third act conflicts serve their purposes of course, but sometimes I just really want something that doesn’t stress me out or have me on the edge of my seat. With this book being fake dating/fake MARRIAGE I really expected more conflict but that didn’t happen and I really just enjoyed the heck out of this book and these characters.I also related heavily to Avery’s bff Hannah so I can’t wait to read her story!! Also can’t wait for Emmett’s brother Holden’s story, I feel like it’s going to be a perfect grumpy sunshine.Stephanie Archer, you’ve done it again!

Cute concept
This book had a cute concept, the execution just didn't really do it for me.*Spoilers*The first half of the book seemed kinda all over the place. Things would just jump from hating each other to agreeing to insane things within a couple sentences with no real thought or explanation on why or how things changed. Like, you don't hate someone (for reasons that I guess eventually kind of play out but also just seemed like there could have been more depth there) and then agree to fake date them after 2 sentences, and then 2 days later agree to be engaged and then 2 days later agree to be married, all of which have zero real thought or reasoning behind them. The second half got a bit better, but the character development was still lacking, and the big "oh no!" that inevitably comes at the end of every romance book was just ridiculous. Like, did we just forget that the MMC was already a business owner? He owns a construction company with one of his brothers, another brother owns the town surf shop, but now we're supposed to just buy that the town council and mayor all forgot about those established businesses, which weren't an issue with him running for mayor, but his wife owning a business would be a conflict of interest? I mean, I get it, for some reason we always have to have the "ohhh this bad thing happened and how are they going to get past it?!?!" kind of thing in romance novels, but that was a REALLY far stretch for the end of book conflict. And it stemmed from the sleazy guys wife overhearing that the marriage was fake? How does that even make sense? I mean, it doesn't, which is why it bothered me so much 🤣Anyway, the book wasn't terrible, it just really wasn't that good either.

AMAZING
I truly love this series, I'm coming back to recommend book 1 after reading 3 books (and Finn's already waiting in my library) and I can't think of a single thing that doesn't work perfectly or that could be done differently.Every couple has a lot of chemistry, the dialogs are on point, the sex is hot, all the tropes are perfectly executed!Every character is carefully built, and it's pretty subtle. Like Hanna (book 2) eating salads, pasta and tofu. Is she vegetarian? (not vegan, because the pasta had a lot of cheese) Being vegetarian is not the main point of her personality, but it brings a touch of realism that I loved!Every secondary character is also carefully built, to the point that I feel I could move to Queen's Cove and meet them. I love Miri, Don, Max, Div, Elizabeth, Sam...This is definitely my favorite romance series, and I can't recomend it enough.

Such a cute, spicy rom-com
This book was really fun to listen to. I couldn't put it down and devoured it in two days...which is not normal for me for an audiobook haha. I adored Emmett and Avery's relationship. How they went from bickering to tolerating to falling in love with each other. Throw in a fake fiance/marriage of covenicence and you've got an instant win from me! lol.I really enjoyed listening to this audio - um hello duet narration which is probably the best thing ever! The narrators were super easy to listen to!Overall, if you want a light, fun, SPICY, rom-com with no 3rd act breakup - start here! Also - it takes place in Canada so that's another WIN from me!!!

Por historias como la de Emmet y Avery, yo vivo y respiro por el cliché de Fake dating y marriage of convenience. Que historia tan entretenida y preciosa, la amé. 🥰

Fun, sweet and spicy
This was such a fun fake dating romance! But it also gave all the feels, it was well developed with good spice, intimacy, and a wonderful small town setting. It did all seem to happen very quickly though, and it mostly felt like the timeline was very ambiguous - but it was definitely a quick and easy read, and I will absolutely be reading the rest of the series.
