Good Night Moon: Hebrew Edition Board book

This is a wonderful translation, very true to the text with only minor changes to make it rhyme in Hebrew. I read it to a religious school classroom of kindergartners and first graders, and they loved it. It's great for that age group, to reinforce "Laila Tov" and maybe a few other vocabulary words. The only reason that I give it four stars instead of five is that the typeface used is not the Hebrew font that the kids are used to seeing, so it's harder for kids who have less exposure to different Hebrew typefaces to read it themselves. That said, it could be used for third or fourth graders as an example of where one might see non-prayerbook fonts.

I like this book, and am glad to be able to read it to my baby in Hebrew. Decent translation, still rhymes. Gets only 4 stars because of the illustrations, which seem slightly different from the original, specifically - it lacks the beautiful fading-to-dark that the original does. The illustration on last page is just as bright as the one on the first page. Not sure why they changed this.

I was not familiar with this book until my baby was born, and now that I have read the English version a few times for my daughter, I was excited to get the Hebrew version to compare.The translation is great because while it is not a literal translation, it takes into account the cadence and rhyming that appears in the original.The art work is identical, although the print is a lot lighter in this version (paperback) than in my English board book version.The original price in the Israeli currency is still pasted on the book and the mark up for buying here in the U.S was very reasonable.

This is a great colorful and vibrant board book. The board book seems very strong and all of the pictures are the same as the original book.The translation is very well done. I think another reviewer that didn't like it might have wanted an exact translation, versus something that makes the story flow better in the language. I also appreciate the verbal pointing on the Hebrew. It matches up very nicely with Biblical Hebrew especially.I am very pleased with this book and would get it as a gift for someone

My children grew up on both English and Hebrew versions of Goodnight Moon and loved them both. But when I bought this for a friend's child, I received a Hebrew board book, not hardcover as it was described. Amazon was very nice about the return, but they send me another board book! I checked with a lot of bookstores and was unable to find a hardcover, so it must be out of print. I ended up keeping the board book, but Amazon should correct the description.

The Hebrew version beautifully captures the spirit and cadence and poetry of the original. I had a delightful time reading this to a young Israeli cousin, who loved looking for all the repeating objects and animals on the pages. From talking to my cousin's parents, who were not familiar with this title but claimed to know all the children's books commonly found, I have a feeling it's not too widespread in Israeli homes, so it would make a nice gift to an Israeli family with a young child.

We have this book in English as well asHebrew. It is fun to look at them side by side. My husband reads a page in hebrew and I read the same page in English. Our children love hearing the story in two languages, and it is a great way to introduce the children to the hebrew language.

Bought for a cousin’s child in Israel who didn’t have any children’s books in Hebrew. She loves it!!
