I've been bothered by other belts that are really composite belts. They seem to be made of cardboard sandwiched between two strips of very thin leather. They look good on the rack, but after wearing them for a while, they begin to separate at the holes and often they give way where the buckle is attached.I have no idea what the lifespan of this belt will be - I wear it everyday except on dress up occasions - but it has no holes punched through it and the loop holding the ring is attached by rivets. Should they fail, I can replace them with leather screws. The length - 72" - is such that I can trim the belt if need be for a fresh start. Now that I understand the mechanics of it, I can go to my local leather store and purchase the materials to make my own.

I bought this belt for my medieval cosplay. This belt is very sturdy and I imagine it works as it is supposed to.However, if you're looking for a belt to attach a lot of accessories to (like a Frog Belt http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006BJG1TI, sword, potion and small satchel), you're going to need another belt or use something to keep the belt tight. I ended up walking around and holding the knot of my belt in order to keep everything in place.Once again, I think this is how it is supposed to work. But either my body type or tying method (I used the loop featured in the image) didn't work well for a lot of equipment.

If you want a real leather belt for a costume or outfit, this is it. Great price and its Long. We ended up cutting about a foot off ours but either way, just add it to your cart. This is the one.

I ordered one on October 9, 2013. It's now September 12,2016 and I'm looking at ordering another one. Not because the first failed or wore out. It's still like new, just need one for my pants and one for my hunting gear. The belt as is with leather can take a beating. On my belt, I carry two pouches for basic day needs, wallet keys, etc, 2 belt knives, (1all purpose cutter,1 strictly for game processing), tomahawk, 44. Mag or BP pistol, and a can of bear spray. I've read reviews of the belt slipping. After a while the knot will slip a little, but it's no bother and easily cinches up.

Looks and feels great. Tie it the way they show you and you’ll have no issues. It’s long, so you may need to cut it down, but better that than being too short! Can’t wait to break it in

The belt was stiff and fit extremely well can't wait to put it with my armor and carry my sword with me at all times now that I can. This product also came very early and was on great shape the craftsmanship is very sound .

Great value for a costume! Has plenty of extra length on my 36" waist husband. Does take a while to soften up.

Works well, though I think that it stretched a bit during use as I had to tighten it a few times thru the day at the Ren Faire. No, the not wasn't slipping, I had a double knot on the belt.
