Boring.
What a waste of some great acting talent in Cairiona Balfe, and Jamie Dornan. There is more life in a flat bottle of pop than this film. Don't worry if you don't agree with me, it's my opinion and I'm entitled to have one of my own.

Wonderful film better than some documentarys on the subject.
Great entertainment and explains the times it had happened. No bad language no terrible violence.Great cast especially the children.Well directed and educational. Its a story set in Belfast, its not factual, and yet gets to the heart of the troubles.Well Worth Watching More Than Once.Extras are intersting too!

So disappointed in this film
Having been a teenager in Belfast at the time the film was set I was disappointed. Acting was brilliant but a lot of what was protrayed was not realistic. Watched DVD once and gave it away after- glad we hadnt wasted any more money by going to the cinema to see "Belfast"

Great film. Troubles simplified. Through the eyes of a child.
Even what are very difficult times for adults can be happy times for kids who see the world differently. This movie reminds me of my childhood in the Soviet occupied Poland which for the adults was constant danger and hardship with mainly two colours : grey buildings and red trams or flags of the communist party. However for me it was the happiest and most colourful time of my life. It was all (like for this Belfast boy) about friends & the community. All about people, experiences, sharing rather than material things.Would never swap my childhood for the one in then the colourful West. I loved my PRL, my " depressing" Warsaw. That was my " Belfast" which I was leaving with tears in my eyes.Still, whenever I return for a visit, on landing, when approaching Okecie airport I have that unforgettable feeling of butterflies in my stomach, racing heart beat which feels like visiting my school crush, an old love. But that's my childhood, my great memories are back. My inner kiddo in me is back. That's happiness.Great movie.

Indescribable Other than a Great Movie
If you purchase and enjoy this (which I believe you will love it) then make sure you watch all the credits at the end after which it immediately rolls into an extended ending then follows up with an interview with Kenneth Branagh and some of the cast which is worth the watch, then you can decide who was the best actor, and good luck with that because they were all brilliant, although my money is on Ciaran Hinds by whisker (or should that be by a whisky). A beautiful film.

Entertaining
This film is very well produced and enjoyable to watch. Judi Dench is in it. The storyline is difficult for some people to deal with, and Kenneth Branagh’s take on it is somewhat saccharine and twee at times. Overall a good film and well worth buying.
