The best on the market, period!
Hard back book is MUCH better then paperback. Seems like there's better quality in the pages, photos, and of course the hard back cover. The best book of it's type on the market. Information within is superb along with all photos, explanations. I should know... flew many of these aircraft within this publication for 28 years and over 10,000 hours flight time. Buy this book if you would like spot on informative information, pictures, and superb drawings of the many versions of one of Boeings finest aircraft! I wish I could give this book 10 stars, it's that good a book! Enjoy!

Its the pictures you wish you would have taken.
I was a boom operator on this great aircraft back in the late eighties/early nineties and this book is a wonderful stroll down memory lane. I could almost smell the JP-4 (later 8) and transport myself back in time. This book is great because it helps fill in some gaps about the aircraft that your memory lost over the years and it even did a good job of explaining where upgrades and changes where made with the airframe over time (R model conversion, Pacer Crag etc.) I thought it did a good job of pointing out the different versions of engines between the A, E and R models as well. I don't recall if it covered the EC versions and the RT versions we had at my old base or the addition of rollers for cargo, but that is getting pretty down in the weeds for a book with this kind of scope. Great addition to my large military aviation and KC-135 library. A must have for former KC-135 crew dogs, maintainers and enthusiasts. It is all of the pictures you wish you would have taken when you had the chance. Great book. I will definitely get others for my favorite aircraft.

Some details are not correct. I was a KC-135 Boom Operator during my 22 year USAF career, so I know the KC-135 very much. I flew the "A", "Q", and "E" models as well as being a CCTS Instructor at Castle AFB, CA. I have more than 4000 hours including more than 550 combat hours flying her.

I HATE the KC-46. Just had to get that out there.
I love the KC-135. It's as old as I am and more durable. If you're a modeler or just a fan, this book is very informative.

Review
Great book, about a plane I flew so many years ago. I felt like I was doing another pre-flight inspection.

Good history and easy explanation of this aircraft to those who have not worked on it.
Anyone whose has been assigned to this aircraft will like this book. It's a legacy aircraft and if you've worked it, you're a part of it's history and continued service. NKAWTG!
