Nice sequel
I love Lonely Werewolf Girl and was so excited about the sequel. I have to say that one would appreciate the book better if you read Lonely Werewolf Girl first. A lot of characters are very well developed in the first book and you may find it incredibly confusing if you only read this one book. Millar did try to repeat some details in the book to make easier for people who had not read the first book - it feels repetitive but I can see why he needs to do so.I remember Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere US editor once commented that it is difficult for US audience to accept humour weaving in a fiction that is not in the "comedy" category (not in these exact words but that's more or less her meaning). It is much more acceptable to UK audience to have humour throughout the book even though it is a fantasy fiction. Martin Millar's books have always meant to be light-hearted and even the normally serious characters have their comical moments. But isn't this what regular people do in reality? I think this make the characters feel more real (even though they are werewolves and fire elementals!) and I surely can relate to them more.I gave this 4 stars because I feel the first book is better. Or maybe my expectation after Lonely Werewolf Girl is too high... anyway, it is a fun read and great for anyone who looks for good story plot with some humour. Wonderful ending too - surely hopes there will be a third book!

Fun! Fun!
Imaginative. Interesting. Often laugh out loud funny. Great characters. Great world. I am running out of superlatives, but I did greatly enjoy this book.

Eh.
I was really excited to hear that Millar had published a sequel to his Lonely Werewolf Girl. I really enjoyed that first book and I even more so love Good Fairies Of New York. But this one just got frustrating for me after a while. Even as a girl who loves style and fashion, I got so sick of seeing strong powerful characters that I loved so much in the first book get bogged down by such shallow, vapid concerns. They seemed like total airheads this time around and it just drags on and on to where I didn't care anymore about any of them. I see positive reviews for the next book, but I don't know if I'm quite ready to give it a shot.

Sequel to a better first book
Like other reviewers, I originally didn't realize that this was the second book in a series. I was lost, and had to turn to friends who had read the first volume for explanations and character background. Still, it was a hard read for me to finish--darker than I tend to like my books. Two friends who had read the first volume enjoyed Curse more than I did when I passed it along, but said that it was not as good a read as Lonely Werewolf Girl.If you think werewolves are your thing, do yourself a favor and start with the first volume. If you enjoy that one, I think you'll like Curse of the Wolf Girl. Otherwise, skip it.

So silly I shouldn't have loved it but I did.
My headline says it all, almost. The characters are so fantastical and so much fun that I actually began identifying with them.

Wow I love this series
All the same humor, politics, drama, and action from the original. I am so happy this stories continues, so that I can spend more time with these wonderful characters.

Fun but over long
I was really excited about reading Curse because I love Kalix in the first book, Lonely Werewolf Girl. But right away I could see Curse needed editing. Lines were repeated, sometimes even paragraphs a few pages later. Everything in Curse unwinds too slowly, and characters from the first book seem simple here. In the end, Kalix comes around, but the book should be about 30% shorter.

Love the story, hate that the book was used
This item was obviously used and not new. The spine is cracked and the cover is bent. The story is fabulous but the book condition was shameful.

fast delivery exactly as it was described
it came very fast and is exactly how it was described my only complaint isn't the sellers fault its the libraries ;) they stamped on the intr for the book so its hard to read other wise the book is in great condition no issues what so every and it came nice and fast so all around great book and great buy will certainly buy from these people again the iron thing I found is that I had actually read this exact copy before it was taken out as it came from my at the time local library so kinda funny when I think about it.

Charmingly endearing
Read this book to tantalise your imagination and you'll start having colourful dreams. There's a youthful innocence to the books that reminds me of the Narnia series but set in a modern context and more 'mature' characters

Brilliantly but simply written an very funny. Can't wait for the next instalment! Will have to make do with fairies in New York for now....

Fantastic Urban Fantasy
Far more than just a "werewolf" story, this is an engaging, humorous and wonderfully characterized human drama-comedy. Its cast of struggling college students, mal-adjusted Scottish werewolves, and fashion-loving fire elementals come alive in exemplary fashion. Great book.
