Durability Plus
I travel far on a bicycle, often for months at a time, and I camp two night of three when on the road. And for years, that meant I bought a lot of tent stakes to replace those I bent beyond repair or broke entirely. The typical tent stake is a long, extruded triangle of aluminum of length somewhere between six and nine inches. When they’re formed, the three long fins are tapered to a point on one end, and on the other they are undercut so they can hold a guy line that’s looped over them. That undercut creates a weak point, and when you hammer such stakes into hard ground, they tend to bend there. So you straighten them, then they bend again, so you straighten them again. Do that enough times, and the soft aluminum fatigues enough to break. I know, because I’ve broken — then replaced — hundreds of them. These stakes are nothing like those typical triangular ones. These are shaped like large nails, thus have no undercut to weaken the end you hammer. These, I have not broken. These, I have not even bent. And there’s another plus. When you pull the typical triangular stakes from the ground, their three long groves pull a lot of ground out with them, and they’re tedious to clean. I have to scape it out, dragging the sharp end of another stake down each long groove. But these nail-shaped stakes don’t do that. They usually pull out cleanly, and if a bit of dirt does cling, a quick wipe between my fingers removes it.But it doesn’t matter how durable a tent stake is, or how easy it is to clean, if it doesn’t hold your tent firmly to the ground. I worried that the round shape of these would pull out of the ground too easily, but I needn’t have. In my experience, these hold more firmly than those convoluted triangular stakes. Bottom line: I haven’t had one pull out … until I wanted it out.Oh, and that nail head on the end makes pulling these out of the ground much easier and more finger friendly than those typical triangular stakes. No gloves needed with these. The typical triangular stakes often ship with loops of cord through one end for hooking a finger in when pulling, but the aluminum soon wears through that cord. I know, because I’ve landed on my rear every time it’s happened. You’d think I’d learn, but no, they fool me every stinking time. These nail-shaped stakes also have a cord loop, but the hole through which the cord is threaded is smooth, so it doesn’t wear through the cord. At least, not so far. Fingers crossed.I don’t own a durometer, so I can’t confirm my impression, but the aluminum from which these stakes are formed feels harder and stiffer than the typical triangular stakes I still own. Perhaps it’s just that the anodizing is of higher quality. If there was a downside to these, it’s that they were so pretty, I was reluctant to use them. But, of course, I did use them, and I still do. And for what it’s worth, I still think they’re pretty, scratches and all.

Pricy nails
Used aluminium alloy and hardening (T6?) is not specified per description.Seems to be a relativ hard alloy- was not able to carve the alluminium by knive easilly.Weight was specified with 33g- that‘s correct.Quite long and thick high-priced nails with round aluminium-head. Nearly impossible to hurt vour toes or feed by accident.

they will bend
we camp a lot, do 4x4ing and outdoor camping and these are good tent stakes, the only problem with them is they will bend a little if you hit a rock underground, but once pulled out, they can be hit back to normal and ready for the next trip. very good and worth getting

Sturdy Lightweight Stakes
Replaced my heavy steel stakes with these lighter weight aluminum pegs. I use these aluminum stakes for my tarp set-up. The nine-inch length has held very well in a variety of soils. The heads are threaded on to the stake shaft, the heads have not popped off and have held up well to a metal stake hammer. I've used these stakes for several trips so far in both rocky dirt and grass sites and am very happy with the weight, price, and performance. Have not bent any. These serve my needs very well. Would purchase again if the need arises.
