Nice little unit. It is very compact, lightweight, and puts out good intensity. It works ionly n the downward position, and the bulbs will automatically shut off if tilted more than 30 degrees to one side or the other, but turns back on again when reoriented straight downward. I like the fact it has a strong beam, so that you can raise it a few inches above the surface you are treating to cover a broader area.I have had good luck with using it inside of shoes, and treating garments hanging in a closet. It works sideways if you hold the unit at a slightly downward angle when using it vertically on hanging clothes, or against walls, or up and down vertical chair backs. Seems to work really well, and folds up neatly for storage. Very nice.One thing that would be helpful is to know what type of UV protective goggles to use for UV-C. I bought a pair of UV protective goggles with yellow lenses just to play it safe and protect my eyes. Since a single pair of UV goggles are inexpensive, selling this unit with a proper pair of protective goggles included with it as a kit would be a great idea. I would give this unit 5 stars for design, and usability. It remains to be seen how long it will last. Also, I think a chart would be helpful to include with the unit to tell you how many seconds to treat a surface at a given distance. Perhaps in 1 inch increments, and if there is any research available, what length of treatment time is best for killing mold and mildew spots on fabrics, or objects.

When this arrived I was so excited to sanitize my bed sheets or taking it with me when I went on vacation for hotels. This came with a usb cable to plug in and also a compartment to place batteries in. The UV light turned on but the product was so flimsy and the light given out was so minute, I did not think it was worth it and returned it. Back to using Lysol.

You can use this sanitizer in so many ways. I use it for my phone, keyboard, trackball, and tablets. You can easily use this for your shoes, doorknobs, etc. Before buying this I had a Phonesoap and it only worked for my phone and maybe a few other small items you could fit inside. Also, one of my previous Phonesoaps was delivered with a broken top bulb...the other one stopped working. Then I stumbled onto this wand and it has been great.You need to aim it downward for the light to come/stay on. This is a safety feature so I have no complaints. Also, I like how you don't need the device pointed directly down for the light to work - you can have some angle to it which is good for certain things you are sanitizing.The cord it comes with is a decent length but you may need to use a longer cable (USB to micro USB) depending on where your power source is in relation to what you're sanitizing. Or you can not worry about the cord at all and use it with batteries.I will likely bring this with me on trips, in addition to using it at home.

I bought this on May 13, 2018 I own a cleaning company and we dont need them very often but we do use UV lights occasionally. Well it worked great the 1st time but now just over a month later I went to use it again. and it will not work. New batteries are in it light flickers but doesnt come on and since it is more then 30 days I cant return it despit the fact that it was only used 1 time. I also have stored it in a dry safe place out of light and away from anything that could have damaged it. Please dont buy this product!!!!

I bought this back in February 2019. I was using a larger wand at home and I wanted a portable one I could travel with. (Ah, the days when travel was a viable option!) The light seemed weak, compared to the more robust wand I had been using, and I certainly did not do a petrie dish test, but the portability of this Germise was fabulous. Its small size and folding design meant it slipped beautifully into a purse/bag. Since September 2020, I have kept it next to my earring box and used it to sanitize my and my daughter's earrings daily before putting them on, which meant it was getting a lot more use. Now it will not turn on. I have tried replacing the batteries twice, because you never know with stored batteries, but I still cannot get it to come on, so I think the problem is either the bulb or some sort of internal connection. I only ever used it via battery power, and have misplaced the cable, so I cannot try it plugged in to see if that makes any difference. It is well past the 1-year warranty, and I'm not sure it is worth replacing. Yes, it is one of the lower-priced options out there, but I'm just not ready to pull the trigger on spending the $ again when it lasted less than 2 years, and never felt very robust anyway.

An essential part of my travel kit. Also use on tooth brush.Highly recommend. I like that it does not have a built in rechargeable battery. Much easier to use four AA batteries - more convenient than the mini USB cord as a power supply. TIP: any universal mini USB to regular USB will power this unit at 5V @ 1W works fine. The manufacturer could be more clear about this. The tiny instruction sheet only says the bulb has a 3W output, but does not specify the voltage of the input power best to use. Not sure what would happen if the USB power source is over 5V. Any micro electronics experts out there with an answer? UV rays still the safest non-chemical technique for killing germs.

Received the item exactly as pictured and described. Product appears well made. The included instructions are easy to understand and the product is easy to use. Of course I have no way of knowing its true effectiveness other than trusting the science behind it and the manufacturer's claims. I purchased this solely to use on my family's various mobile devices. Very portable and will most likely pack for future travel. I can definitely see using this during air travel, since airplanes are a huge breeding ground for bacteria.

Works well at killing those germs... at least that is what I think its doing... got a black light to go along with this to check for hidden potential germ areas and spills... I feel better having this on hand even though I am not 100% sure it is doing its job... It was a good price too... A welcome tool to my clean arsenal!!
