JP Korsteel Rubber Mouth Jointed Dee Ring Snaffle Bit, 5"

The purchasing process and shipping was great. The product as described. My horse love it and accepted a new snaffle right away. Unfortunately the quality it's not that great. After only 2 rides, the rubber part is broken and . some parts are missing. It can be dangerous for a horse, since the edges become sharp. I do not think I can use it again. My horse is not a mouthy one and doesn't really chew on any of snaffles I tried. I think I will try to return it if possible or ask for a replacement.

I bought this bit on a whim to try on my sensitive and opinionated leased thoroughbred. I had tried several other bits, from a fancy alloy french link, to a rubber mullen mouth, to a short shank pelham and he was miserable or too strong in all of them. The curved, rubber coated bars are great for his thick (senstitive!) tongue and palate and they also provide a reduced "nutcracker" effect. The D rings provide lateral stability and enhanced control. He loves it, chewing and foaming slightly and actually wanting to take contact. This is a must buy if you have a finicky, sensitive horse.
