Soft, strong, and somewhat long.
After buying a few pairs of cheap long-shorts, which inevitably fell apart and burst after not too much wear, I decided that I'd stop being such a cheapskate and bought these Brandit ones.Upon delivery of them, I was actually surprised at how 'heavy' they are - they're not quite what I'd describe as 'lightweight' summer shorts, but I was very pleased at how good quality they felt, being made of a nice and soft but strong-feeling fabric. I popped them on and was pleased that the 32" waist fitted me comfortably, with them only being a tiny smidgen on the tight side of things - but that's good as I'm currentlyon a diet so I should be decidedly more trim in a few weeks. As is usually the case when I buy things I normally attack them with a pair of scissors and remove and 'dangly' bits, toggles and bits that flap about - and in the case of these shorts, there's absolutely tons of the blighters. There are loops to presumably attach braces at the top of the waistband; they got snipped - I'm not a hipster, thanks! The loops around the bottom of the legs got snipped too and I only just noticed yesterday that there are several tabs with buttons (for what purpose, I have absolutely no idea) around the inside of the waist, but since they're hidden they shall remain unsnipped. Once the dangly bits had been removed, I set about exploring the rest of the shorts features. The usual pockets at the waist and bottom areas are satisfyingly deep and strong-feeling and the pockets on the thighs are positively cavernous, so you should have no problems carrying lots of stuff about with you whilst wearing these beauties. There's also a nice little open pocket on the right thigh that's handy for storing keys, pens and the likes. All in all, I'm very, very pleased with these shorts. I've read that brandit is a good make for these sorts of things, so I suspect I'll be looking at their stuff again in the near future. Good buy!

Good fit, like em
I'm a gardener and use these for work. Loose but comfortable fit with big side pockets.Flaps on front pockets are just fake but the pockets themselves are roomy. Fabric is also a good weight.Army green is slightly darker then photo and they're a bit longer than expected coming halfway down my calves/shins (I'm 5'9") but okay.

Nice shorts
Look nice, quite light feeling to wear, they were a bit loose to start with but then I found the rear adjusters to tighten the waist. They fit ok now and no need for a belt. I will see how they get on with time and I might buy another colour as well. Pocket for the phone on the side is too narrow, maybe it’s for tools. Overall the pockets could be a bit more practical for me. They got a few positive remarks when I first wore them.

Great! Here's size advice...
I buy a lot of Brandit, great stuff. Sizing. I am UK waist, in between 34" and 36". I first got L, which is fine, but a bit baggier than I want, so I just received an M, which is very nicely fit, snuggy. So M is perfect for me. I consulted their size charts for other products, the letters are kind of straddling numbers. So: my advice is what letters I recommend.
