Storex 61261B01C File Cabinet, 1-Pack, Grey/Dark Grey

The fact that they thought anyone would put anything of value in this to qualify a lock is laughable. I'm an extremely niche customer in that I run a part-time company out of my studio apartment, which is small, and the only space I have left for some very necessary file storage was under my coffee table. This was the only single drawer file storage solution I found that met my size requirements. What a joke. If I kicked this thing casually, I'm afraid I'd harm myself in the resultant explosion of some the cheapest, thinnest plastic I've ever seen on a product over 10$ in cost. The fact that they ask 120$ for this on their main website is tantamount to fraud IMO. If you don't have the spatial requirements I do, RUN from this page before you burn your screen.

It's a pretty cheaply made item. It is not worth $50+ , which is the price that every website seems to have for this item. But I needed a small, lockable cabinet to keep and organize documents in my apartment and didn't want a huge thing. Lo and behold-- not only is it cheap, but it was missing the key. MISSING THE KEY! Defeats the purpose of having a cabinet that locks, eh? This is the second time I've ordered a filing cabinet that was missing something (the last one was missing the handles....).On the bright side, Amazon customer service was prompt in handling the issue, so 5 stars for the customer service response, but 1 star for the actual item. If the item actually came with everything its supposed to come with AND was like half the price, it would be a 3-4 star item, because it would be worth it at like $20-ish. As it is, I might have given it 2 stars if it actually came with all the pieces. But at $50+ dollars it is an utter rip-off, especially as it is probably refurbished AND missing the key. sorry. It should be much cheaper than what they are selling it for. If it was cheaper then it would be an entirely different review.

This this is the biggest heaping pile of S#!T I ever bought. The front door broke as I opened the box. Then the screws that hold the front door on aren’t long enough to hold it on. I pull the drawer out to try and fix it, then I go to put the drawer back in, and the top of the whole unit breaks. This is the first time I ever bought something off Amazon and was disappointed but seriously, this product is horrific. So bad that I think Amazon shouldn’t even offer it because it sucks worse than Nickleback.

I own an identical-looking model Storex cabinet that I bought about 10 years ago for about $40 at an office supply store. This older cabinet was very good quality and has served me well over the years. So recently, when I needed to buy another cabinet, I figured I would buy another of the same model. I saw the bad reviews, but since I already owned one of these, I thought those people must have just had unrealistic expectations about a plastic file cabinet.Well, I was wrong. The newer cabinets are a significantly cheapened copy of the original Storex 2-drawer cabinet. The plastic is flimsier and it arrived warped; the locks are visibly less sturdy than those on my older cabinet. It takes a lot of maneuvering to close the drawers securely so they can be locked. And the cabinet itself is less stable; when the drawers are opened, the cabinet has a tendency to tend to tip forward-- *much* more easily than my older cabinet.I will continue to use the cabinet, but I won't be ordering Storex cabinets again. Higher price + lower quality = a lack of respect for their customers.

This cabinet is all plastic. For the price is should have some better stability. The bars that come with it for separation purposes in the drawers don't stay attached, they just pop off, so I don't use them. The top bows very easily. Some metal supports, or make it all metal, would considerably help. I bought this because it was the only 2 drawer cabinet I could find that had individual locking drawers. Should have went with just buying a lock and installing it on my old cabinet. Lesson learned.

So not going to bash the company of the product or Amazon....but lets just say, I purchased two (2) of these file cabinets April 3, 2021, returned (1) on April 7th as it was received with 2 broken wheels and the one returning today was broken down in regards to looked used and made of a hard plastic shell but the two metal poles on the inside wouldn't stay in their places that support the drawer due to the shell again looking used and bent....do not recommend!!

This was a necessary purchase that we had no idea would work out so well. I was 9 months pregnant and my dresser was recalled to the store we bought it from a year prior. With labor days away and stress mounting as we had no where to put our clothes and i was not dresser shopping, I bought two of these. They look great. The drawers slide out. Yes i felt like I was back in college with this choice, but they work. I will keep using as extra drawer space in the laundry room or garage in the future. They are light, all our clothes fit in without an issue and this could be amazing for an office. I highly recommend. Drawers are so versatile and needed in all aspects of life.

Nice to have under anything or by its self. Took a few trys to get a part to fit and we had to take it a part. Come back next day and got all parts working good. Wheels are cool and they roll over thick to thin flooring. They will not support anything heavy on top because it's hard plastic, but not strong plastic. Yes, it can be stackable and it's up to the user(s).

Unit is adequate at best. It comes in two identical sections only held together by 4 small pieces of double-sided tape. Mine separated just being taken out of its shipping box; luckily the bottom unit ALSO had 4 pieces of unused double-sided tape, so a quick inversion and everything as back to its fragile state.Ended up using a high adhesion tape around the seam to reinforce the connection.Construction is basic molded plastic without more attention to details than necessary. Hanging folders fit and can be moved, but the rails are rough and bumpy and the movement is far from smooth. Comes with two extra legal rails that look rather fragile, letter works as-is.Setting aside the small mod I had to implement, the unit works as intended. albeit without flourish or glory. It is roughly functional, if somewhat flimsy, and fit for purpose, for a while anyway. Definitely will not survive rough handling or transport, and is NOT recommended for anything more than a casual duty cycle.

I intended to use this product as it is listed, a filing cabinet. I put 2 files in it (each half full), and the drawer toppled over and popped the top off. I cannot think of anything I would use this product for, because if you put any weight at all in the top drawer, the same thing would happen. When I went to return it, I was offered $9.00 and the generous offer of keeping a product that is useless to me. The product cost me $125.00! Because the product was not damaged, but rather useless, I had to return it at my own cost. My money was returned in a timely manner, although they kept $15.00 for their initial shipping costs.

I love this file drawer because it was exactly as described and just what I needed. It fits all of my household files and paperwork. The drawers is very lightweight, so I will have to mount it or put something heavy on top to keep it from tipping forward when I access the back files. With that consideration, I'm very happy.

Très insatisfaite de ce produit. Sa qualité laisse beaucoup à désirer. La poignée pour ouvrir le tiroir est mal faite, elle n’est pas confortable à utiliser. J’ai mis du ‘’duck tape’’ pour qu’elle soit plus confortable. Et comme il n’y a rien en arrière du tiroir pour le soulever, ce n’est pas commode pour le changer d’endroit quand on le désire. En résumé, c’est un mauvais achat et beaucoup trop cher pour ce que ça vaut.Very dissatisfied with this product. Its quality leaves much to be desired. The handle to open the drawer is poorly made, it is not comfortable to use. I put duck tape on to make it more comfortable. And since there is nothing behind the drawer to lift it, it is not convenient to change its location when desired. In summary, it's a bad buy and way too expensive for what it's worth.

If you are used to using metal file cabinets you might not like this. We switched from our two drawer metal one because of a space issue. The plastic just seems cheap after using metal. It is nice otherwise, works fine but it is light; meaning you might pull the whole unit ahead when opening the drawer if you don't have anything on top. We have our printer sitting on top so it hold it in place when opening.
