SEIKO SBTR027 Selection Quartz Watch Shipped from Japan

I would say this watch punches above its weight class. Great looking watch. Someone compliments me on it almost every time I wear it. That said, it's slightly smaller than my taste in watches, and is the only watch I've ever bought where I didn't have to remove any links for a proper fit on my 7.5'ish inch wrist. If you have chunky wrists, your first order of business will be to change the bracelet. Other than that, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this watch.

I love this watch. It's gorgeous, the face as many have described changes color with the slightest change in angle or lighting. I was looking at the monsters then came across the JDM models (Japanese domestic market) that are not on the Seiko US site, search for seiko JDM and and a whole other world of amazing looking affordable Seikos can be found. Models starting with SBTR- Spirit/ SND lines will get you started, there are many non-US collections. Youtube was a great help, the reviews let you see the watches in motion- I like watches 2 was one contributor I used quite a bit. As for this particular watch, it's great quality - the face detail in the dials/bezel and indices gives the watch a elegant and sporty vibe without being over the top. My wrist is 8 inches (big frame, 6'1', 195) - I had one link removed and it fits/feels great. The face is just about 40 mm which I prefer to oversize cases that dominate the overall appearance, case depth is also a slimmer 10 mm which I like more than thicker varieties. Bracelet is nice and beyond serviceable but to me almost feels less substantial to the overall package. With a popular 20 mm band width there a plenty of affordable aftermarket bands available. Amazon is great for purchases like this from overseas, no need to worry about tariffs/prohibitive return policies. I lost a TAG during a move and replaced it with a Timex Ironman, which it has been - regardless of the fact I got it for $10 new on clearance at Wally World. I recently bought an Apple Watch which is very good but doesn't scratch the traditional watch itch. Well I must have rolled in poison ivy because I've now started a new collection with this piece, a Timex Expedition field watch, the SBTR017, SSB399P1, a watch display box and inexpensive watch tool kit. I'm hoping the TAG shows up, I probably put it in "someplace safe" so I wouldn't lose it or damage it during the move. I would buy this watch again in a second.

I bought this grey dial and a black dial and they are both Fantastic! Especially for the price. I don’t understand the hype for the seiko Solar watch that is way over priced and the second hand does not work so well.This watch is 39.8 ( a tad less than 40mm and looks great on man’s wrist. I have thin wrists. The white Solar looks like a kids watch! I never understand why grown men were kid looking watches. Solar, so what? You can buy this watch, destroy it and get 4 more for the price of one Solar. Makes no sense.This is a better deal all around AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE DATE AND NUMBERS unlike the Solar watches

The watch is nice sans a couple details. The case has good weight and is quite attractive. Although they call this "blue-grey", under all light conditions I see only grey. The bracelet doesnt look bad but it does not have the quality feel as the case does. It feels like the bracelet was something laying around the Seiko shop in excess so they just threw it on to use them up. Shipping, another scam by amazon. "Get it tomorrow if you order within x hours x minutes x seconds" I ordered on a wednesday or thursday and just got it on a Saturday and i am near Sacramento not way out in the middle of nowhere, so Amazon sucks for the lie. Amazon claims lowest prices available but after placing my order I surfed around and found Amazon price to be the highest of 5 different website offerings. Sorry Scamazon, one too many times with the BS and I am cancelling my membership and no longer will be using amazon at all. I would return this watch to get another brand with better features and a more refined look fir the same price but I dont want to wait over a month to get my money back from amazon. This is a nice watch though, it just isnt as NICE as other watches available for the same money

The dial color on this watch is gorgeous. Under bright sunlight it is a beautiful light blue. In darker light, it takes on a steel grey color. In some light it shimmers as a bluish-purplish color. It looks both sporty and elegant at the same time.The watch has a nice heft to it. I like "heavier" watches. The bracelet isn't as robust as those from some of the "premium" brands, but it looks and feels good. For the price it's just fine. And the movement is a Seiko, so you know it's going to run forever, be accurate, and require very little servicing.Overall the watch is really nice and looks/feels much more expensive than it's price would suggest. I find myself wearing it quite a bit, even over some more expensive choices.The seller couldn't have been nicer. He sent me a nice message thanking me for ordering, and I had a nice little thank you note in the box when it arrived. The watch shipped from Japan to Michigan in 5 days, and didn't have any custom fees or anything like that to hassle with. It couldn't have been a smoother process.I wouldn't say I'm a watch snob, but I like watches. The price of this watch kind of gave me pause, because... well... how good could it be for less than $200? The answer is apparently "very good." Overall I'm completely satisfied with this watch and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing it.

Great value......but. The face has too much chrome . The glare makes the time difficult to read when its bright outside. Other than that, really like this watch.
