Great read. Uses the Yamas and Niyamas to guide thoughts on what these two of 8 limbs means as a teacher !!
I loved this book. I read this book while going thru an RYT200 teacher training program. What I loved was, Dr. Mitchell was able to share her experiences as a teacher and as a studio owner within the framework of the Yamas and Niyamas that brought the material to life for myself and stretched my thoughts. Some things shared were obvious to me, others caused me to pause and think. I loved the prompters which did just what they were meant to do – it prompted me to think differently and I’m looking forwards to re-reading the material in months down the road, doing the prompters again and just seeing how my views may have changed. A bonus in my mind was the sharing of quotes, the mudras and mantras associated with the limbs. What I loved the most was the reminder to continue to be a student while a teacher and why this is so important. I highly recommend this book and the other book she has published at this time - 7 Secrets of a Successful Yoga Teacher: Using the Chakras as a Guide for Teaching. Love to see more works by this author !!

... thinking a few years ago that it would be nice to open a chain of yoga studios in Greece
I recall thinking a few years ago that it would be nice to open a chain of yoga studios in Greece. I contacted a nephew in Greece and told him my idea. He talked me out of it due to the state of the economy, crippling debt, and dwindling incomes. That being said, I grabbed a copy of this book without knowing what to expect. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot by seeing behind the scenes of the yoga business. It basically examines yoga philosophy and applies it to modern times, thus making it a good read for anyone interested in yoga. Don't let the name fool you, this book is not limited to yoga teachers. Otherwise, I would have totally missed out. Enjoy!!

Interesting and to the point.
I enjoyed this book very much. It helped greatly in an essay I wrote for my yoga teacher training course, easy to read, understand and clear explanations as to certain concepts on being an instructor. A good resource for a different perspective. I recommend

A reality check for those thinking of getting into the business of yoga.
Mitchell does a fine job of explaining how the Niyamas and Yamas should guide the philosophy that supports true mindset to teach yoga.

READ! READ! READ!
This book is an excellent tool for a yoga teacher and/or studio owner. It is a very interesting perspective that we all need to be more mindful of in this industry. It also gives you journal prompts at the end of each chapter which is extremely beneficial to your practice on and off the mat. This is MUST read for all yogis.
