Excellent Purchase.
The 2 main reasons I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the four-hundred-dollars... (1) Friends/family had one (or an older/alike model) and absolutely swore by it and (2) I was sick and tired of getting out on the course and finding out that my GPS range finder [that I have now obviously graduated from] had either run out of charge, or wouldn't sync up to that specific course in order to provided the correct course/distance. It comes with a well-protected case, it's lightweight, it's single-button makes it extremely user-friendly (i.e. literally just point-and-zap, then vibrates once it registers contact with the pin/object you're targeting), and lastly... it's accuracy is no joke. I can honestly say this thing has helped improve my golf score because I know now that every time when I reach into my bag to grab a club that it's the right one. Enjoy!

Works Well - Can be Used With One Hand
I had one of the original Bushnell Range Finders that I had for years until it finally gave up the ghost late last year. I went without a rangefinder for several months, but I had really come to depend on it, so I recently bought this model. The size surprised me compared to the much older model I was using; this rangefinder is really small....That's not a drawback at all as it fits very comfortably in my hand. The older model, because of it's design, needed two hands to operate. This one is easy to use with just one hand and I have no complaints. The "Jolt" feature is an added bonus, although it does "jolt" sometimes even when it has not locked on the flag stick. As will all rangefinders of this type, I find it works best when you use a "sweeping motion" on the flag to make sure you are really getting the yardage to the flag. Also, I usually get a reading from something behind the green like a tree as a comparison, just to make sure I really have a yardage to the stick. I did order a two pack of the 3-volt batteries since these are not something that I use in anything except this device. I've played several rounds using this an the battery indicator still shows full charge....we'll see how that holds up.

Incredible Device at a Great Price (No Slope)
Beautiful, nearly perfection. Awesome engineering, size and performance. Beautiful case that attaches to your golf bag to slip it in and out of, or keep handy in the cart. Highly accurate, the standard device to which all others attempt to imitate.BEWARE, however: the product video on this site is misleading. It very informatively implies that this device provides slope. This model (Tour v4 Jolt) DOES NOT PROVIDE SLOPE. That is a much more expensive model (another $65-75), for some reason that product video is included in the information for this model. That said, slope readings are outside the rules of golf (illegal)- and in my opinion, in most cases, rarely adds or subtracts a value that isn't apparent to a good golfer anyhow, so going to the highest price point (for the Tour V4 with slope) is frivolous.

Very nice and accurate rangefinder, but after a month developed brown spots.
I used it for the first time yesterday and it was spot on every time. I did not get one false reading. I would try it 2 to 3 times and it was spot on within a yard. It is very easy to use, very clear and fast. I received a reading within seconds. I am very impressed with this rangefinder. My game unfortunately was not as good as this rangefinder. :( I tried others and they were not even close to this one. For me, this was very expensive and I am stoked it works so well. Definitely a keeper.UPDATE: I love this rangefinder. It is fast and accurate, but all of the sudden developed brown spots in the view finder. I tried to clean but the dots are inside and not able to be cleaned. I am returning it, but am so sad cause it worked so well. The darn brown spots are just too annoying. Paid a lot of money (in my eyes) for this buggah and sad to see it go. :(

Good performance, but could be slightly better
Overall, this rangefinder has met our expectations. It is definitely helping my son, who has only been playing golf for about 15 months, quickly learn what distances he is hitting each club on the range and apply that to the course during tournaments and recreational play. The only real gripe I have is that it does not do as well as I would like at handling uphill pin placements. It tends to catch the ground in front of the green, and you almost have to brace the rangefinder to something solid to get it stable enough to find the very top of the pin. When on level ground or a downhill lie, it picks up the pin quickly, and the vibration feature is key to knowing when you have the right distance.

Solid Product... Fair Price.
After having my much more expensive and feature rich range finder missing from my bag after a TSA inspection last November... I decided to try a less expensive option and went for one of those GPS watches. I returned that after two rounds and tried a handheld GPS type device. Got rid of that too. For me, I want the distance to the pin (or distance to whatever it is I want... not what GPS devices are set to give me). I chose the V4 because it was about $100 less than the V4 Shift. I had the slope feature on my prior device but never used it (it was an older unit and the slope feature was an extra step or two to get to...) This V4 unit is fast and accurate. I like the jolt feature. I have shot a pin multiple times just to see if I get the same number and honestly, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Never been off by a yard or two and if I could hit my clubs down to a yard of what I targeted I might concern myself. I shoot in the upper 80's / low 90's. This is a good device and I feel I got it at a FAIR price (not a great price... not a good price... I feel I got what I paid for and I'm satisfied to the point where I thought I'd share my opinion). The one thing I really wish I could have justified the cost to purchase was the new V4 XE (my apologies if I've gotten the model wrong). The optical screen has an LCD that puts out black and red readouts. I will purchase another rangefinder when they have that feature in a more cost justifiable model but for those without financial limitations... the V4 XE is the way to go.

Piccolo, potente. Infallibile.
Consegna e tempi perfetti come sempre.

Great addition to your game!
I have always been a yardage golfer, and to use this you are really only going to get the full benefit if this describes you. It is very accurate and gives you a nice little jolt when locked on the flag.I've found the yardage can fluctuate fractionally, but it really is only 1 or 2 yards at most if you do multiple measures. I simply take the average or the one which is presented most. This is certainly accurate enough for me and pretty much everyone I play with.I still use my satnav for layups and times when I can't see the flag etc. but have found this, used in conjunction with it, has been invaluable and certainly gives me far more opportunities for birdies and eagles.Would I ditch my satnav and use this exclusively?.......No I wouldn't as it doesn't help in all instances, but I use this probably 95% of the time now with the satnav coming out probably twice in an average round. The quality is great, case is excellent and it is really easy to hold still enough to get a lock, something which I thought I would really struggle with. The level of zoom also seems perfect and I haven't had any issues finding flags, even from 240+ yards. If you are looking for a laser range finder I would certainly recommend this without hesitation.

Love My Bushnell V4
So happy to have my new Bushnell Range Finder. It replaces my old Jolt which gave up the ghost after many years and my new one works perfectly. The new one is lighter. I like that the lens is clear as I use the device for looking at birds, at other groups on the course and ahead to spot balls.Having used a Bushnell for years, I cannot function without the little jolt when the device locks on the flag. Tried a Callaway which was less expensive but had to return it as there was no Jolt. :(There is no manual with the range finder; you have to go on line for it and to register your laser. I made a small error inputting my data. The Canadian Rep responded the very next day to help me. Wow!I would buy again although I hope I won't have to for many years and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a light accurate range finder.

Wish I'd bought one years ago.
Had always relied on GPS and did not realize how far I was off on some holes. Used both this year and really started to lean on the rangefinder more and more as the season went on. Only issue - I find it difficult to pick up the flag from more than 160 yards out. May try one with a stabilizer next season but overall really pleased the purchase.
