As the result of a gunshot, I have one kidney. This has made me more susceptible to kidney stones. I don't have to tell anyone who's had kidney stones what the pain is like. I have never, ever passed a stone and ... since there is a slight risk of kidney damage from shockwave lithotripsy (SWL) I had to have some decent size stones surgically removed ... with a strange little "grabber" and a camera .. and (I'm not sure because I was anesthetized) perhaps an entire film crew. :)Anyway, whenever I sense a little kidney stone pain, I start using Chanca Pidra ... a few droppers full per day. The pain will alleviate in a few days. I'm not a cheapskate, but I think this stuff is a bit pricey. I wish it would cost less, because I see myself having to use it for the rest of my life. I'm going to put it on my list of reasons to move to Brazil ... right after "gorgeous women".

I was in the hospital 4 times with kidney stones. I started taking capsules of Chanca Piedra, but decided to take drops for better absorption. I generally take it once a day, but sometimes start skipping when I'm feeling good or in a hurry. If I start feeling that cringe-causing pain, I immediately take a dropperful of the liquid and within 20 minutes I feel better.There is another brand of chanca piedra liquid that I was taking, but it has other ingredients as well that are so bitter I just could not stand it on a regular basis. This is not great tasting, but certainly a "can do." I won't be caught anywhere without it!! I have it at home at work, in my car and in my travel bag.

I believe this is not concentrated enough to break down kidney stones. I have a different brand I got from health food store that actually works. Thought I'd give this a try because of cheaper price and it was an Amazon choice. Unfortunately, didn't work for me.

Over the years I have developed a ritual for breaking up kidney stones and keeping them from getting too large. Every 6 months I take a diuretic (anything over the counter) one day and drink a lot of water. The next day I mix 40 drops of Chanca Piedra into one of those little plastic lemons full of concentrated lemon juice and drink the whole thing down followed by lots of water. It won't work for every type of stone (actually only a small percentage of them) but in my case it works on my stones and I can remain kidney stone free.

In desperation I bought this product hoping it would help me pass a kidney stone that already traveled into the uterer and stopped just above the bladder. That and trying to reduce/stop other stones from developing and casing more pain. I didn't see results I was hoping for and had to have surgery to have the stone removed. My Dr told me I had calcium oxalate stones and this product won't dissolve them and to save my money. I had already bought it trying everything I could to avoid surgery but it didn't help me. It might help others who don't have calcium oxalate stones.

My daughter was diagnosed with a 1.6 cm calcium oxalate kidney stone and several small ones throughout both kidneys. After the diagnosis, we were scheduled to go back in for lithotripsy. After the 24 hr. urine collection, she began this product twice a day. After 2 weeks, the large stone lodged near her ureter, blocking the kidney which became an acute situation requiring a trip to the hospital and more imaging. Her large stone, even though lodged was 2 mm smaller, but 1.4 cm was still much too large to pass. Her initial images looked like someone had shot her kidneys with buckshot with numerous small stones. The new images showed a total of 6 small stones, that was counting both sides. Many were gone and of the smaller stones all were in the "passable" size range. She still required the lithotripsy to be done on the large one, but the doctor commented after the procedure that he was surprised he didn't see any pieces in the imaging and at how easily it broke up. I told him about this product expecting scoffing, but instead he asked the name and wrote it down saying he planned to look into it more with raised eyebrows. We plan a course of monthly cleansing since she had developed such a whopper at only 16.Update 12/7/11 I was returning for a refill and wanted to add 2 things: For the initial 2 weeks of taking this product, she also did 1 ounce "shots" of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with "the mother" present in the vinegar. It's also credited to help break up stones. Since then, she only uses Chanca Piedra one week a month. Another effect that my teen daughter loves is that it prevents those monthly acne flare-ups.

I've recently been diagnosed as having a kindey stone 2 CM in diameter, that is about the size as half of a large green grape, is it not? I had another stone a year prior and I'm only like thirty. The stone is still there, haven't been back to the doc in a few months, and am not looking forward to having to go back! Hopefully in time this product will dissolve and/or break down this stone, but this product definately helps with pain I've been having, in both my back (kidneys) and while urinating. This product may do more, much more healthwise things for you even if you don't have kidney stones/issues.I've been taking this product steady for a month and a half and when I do not take it the pain comes back. I have not been taking this product as much the past few weeks as I have been on it steady, taking 11-12 drops two times daily as it suggests, for that past 1.5 months. I am 5 foot 11 inches tall, weigh 145 lbs.
