In order to reenact the Battle of Britain or the thrill of modern air racing, we needed a system with which pilots are capable of flying indoors as well as outdoors without sacrificing speed and thrill. Hence, the FlyLine system was born; the brainchild of 50-year air modeling veteran and Cuban-American champion Orestes Perdomo. The system features a unique anchoring and tethering mechanism. The planes are tethered with a line (hence FlyLINE) to the center pole, and anchored by a water-filled base. The planes take off, fly, and land in a circular pattern around the pole. The battling, racing, and aerobatic flying area is therefore the hemisphere around the center pole. FlyLine pilots control their planes with their transmitters, and with the amazing FlyLine Magic Rings. Multiple players can fly in the same space and their planes NEVER TANGLE while flying! Don’t be fooled by the circular flying pattern! All FlyLine models feature a digital proportion radio control system and a digital servo to control the plane’s speed and rear elevators for smooth and real-time command. Therefore, FlyLine models are capable of climbing, diving, looping, knife-edge flight, and much more at supersonic scale speeds. In addition, all FlyLine transmitters operate on a 2.4 GHz radio frequency so you can use gravity-defying stunts and maneuvers to race and combat with other players at the same time and in the same air space, indoors or outdoors, with no interference! Now that is cool- that is FlyLine! Contents: 1 Air Combat Spitfire plane, 2 combat propellers, 2 Li-Po rechargeable & replaceable batteries, 1 - 2.4 GHz control transmitter, 3 tether filaments in 4 foot, 6 foot, and 9 foot lengths, 2 rolls of streamers, 1 Complete patented anchoring base system, FlyLine Flight Manual, Decal stickers. Battery Requirements: 3.7V,150mAh Li-Po (2 Included) / 4AA (not included)

Good idea, if it worked.
***EDIT***I contacted the company to see if they had any replacement batteries and they were able to get me some. I was able to get 4 new batteries and of those about 2 worked. The batteries are the culprit. The ones I initially received were puffy, which is not a good sign for LiPo batteries. Of the ones I got I was able to charge and fly the plane with my son and he loves it, even though a 45 minute charge lasts for about 7 minutes of flying time. It is a fun setup to use but the fact that the batteries take so long to charge, with no external charger so you have to do one at a time, and the batteries don't work upon arrival. I wish that they had a link to sell replacement batteries so I could get a few that work.****I received this for my son for Christmas from a grandparent. It was easy enough to set up. I went through and charged the batteries. Did everything according to the manual and finally got in a position to fly it. It powered up. Everything seemed to function correctly, but the plane would go on circles and never gain any altitude, even with the elevator stick pulled all the way back and the throttle all the way up. It would just go around a couple of times and then the battery would cut out or become loose. Not worth sending back, even if I got two of them as a gift to fight. I guess I'll keep trying.

Low Quality, Fragile, Not Fun
Cons:- The build quality is pretty bad, parts are cheaply made, and assembled off kilter.- It is very difficult to fly (and I've had over 5 RC helicopters that were easy).- It requires a baby-smooth surface to take off and land, or else the wheels get stuck and it tips forward on the nose, busting off the propeller. I have no such smooth surface, not even the road in front of my house, so we have NEVER been able to fly it...but we have broken a few parts off.- Not appropriate quality for the price. Should cost less than my $30 helicopters, which work and are better made.Pros:- Comes with 2 batteries and 2 propellers- My kid wanted this for Xmas, and I saw the Amazon reviews, and told her that it wasn't a good toy. She insisted, so I figured it would be a learning gift for her. She got it, and is wildly disappointed. So there is my only "pro": it's a useful way to teach your kid that TV advertising is baloney. She is 6 so I will remind her of this terrible toy as a reference for years to come.PS: The two reviewers that have posted 5 star reviews for this item have both ONLY ever posted 5-star reviews for ANY product. Seems suspicious to me.UPDATE: It was $100 when I bought it, and is cheaper now at $69. But as suggested by my review, I would not recommend it even if it were priced at $2.

FLYLINE RC
This is a great way to help learn to fly RC for new comer and young ones. My best friends son is 9 and with just a little help and instruction he was flying it all around. The spitfire is a combat model and it is pretty fast, little did i know that when i clicked into the higher control rates with the RC RADIO that the speed woud increase so dramatically. My firend was so impressed that he ordered one almost right after i let him play with it.It is pretty rugged so far as i have hit the ground at high speed a few time while learning that it is very sensitivie in pitch expecially down. i CANT WAIT for him to get his and we can battle.you get a good 4-5 minutes flight time at 3/4 to full throttle and it comes with 2x150mah lipo batteries. I wish the battereies were bigger and that they would recharge faster. You definateley need a lot of open room and smooth surface for flight and takeoff/landings. The 4 foot string( the shortest) you need at least 9 feet of clear flying room and with the 9 foot string it would almost be a 20 foot circle. I cant wait to try the long string but i can't find a large enough room yet.Highly recommened for anyone who wants to have some fun with a model quality airplane. This is not a "TOY" level of quallity, it is way above being a toy. search around there are good deals to be had especially here on amazon.

Love it!
A great product at a great price. The flyline toys are great! My 5 year old, 9 year old and me (38) love to play with them. It takes some getting used to but once you have learned how to fly they are great fun. Excellent price!

Stung on customs and rubbish battery life
This is absolutely rubbish! First of all we ended up having to pay £17 customs to have it delivered. Second the batteries last for about 2 minutes of flying. Complete waste of money. Do not buy.
