AGS Pre-Algebra

for a used book from an elementary school, there’s almost no damage to it. one page that has some character, and the only writing was the names on the very front.

I teach a special education class for diploma-bound 8th graders. I was given grade-level curriculum to use, but often the concepts are presented in a complex way and the practice problems are complicated, requiring students to do things like divide large numbers or use fractions when those concepts are not part of what is being taught at the moment. This book presents the same concepts but with simple definitions, step-by-step examples, and plenty of basic practice. I use both books and feel I'm giving my kids what my school wants them to have. It's an excellent resource and it's a plus that I am able to buy multiple used copies at a low price.

I work with student's that have special needs. This book is perfect because it breaks down difficult concepts into lessons that seem approachable to student's and they can experience success within the school day. I would highly recommend this book if you are working with an individual that is working at a lower level and yet they are expected by state standards to work on Algebra concepts. I can't tell you how much of a blessing this book has been in my classroom!
