Be Still My Heart

I can't believe how late I am to read this book! It was absolutely amazing! The mystery was good, and while I knew who the killer was, and figured what might have been the reasons 3/4th way in, it did not leave me bored. Rather, I was waiting for the climax with anticipation!I feel so bad for what the villain went through though... That was written in such a magnificent way that while I was disgusted, I didn't particularly have to read the trauma, and while I felt horrible for what happened to the villain, but what he did, that's solely on him.So so so happy I read this book! It was mind-blowing!

This book,my god, i love crime and thriller, something from my childhood days and this book delivered, two of my fav authors bring the mystery and the heat into this story. Mystery and drama and paranormal-esque vibes gives this tale a chilling factor.

After a series of bodies are found in Skelm Island, Detective Sloane is sent their to investigate. This is where she meets Lincoln who is a suspect. Their lines blur very quickly and make Sloane seem inept and too distracted to do her job. I mean people are dying here! There wasn't much chemistry between the two main characters and the plot had great premise but just was not followed through. it was easy to guess all the story line and twists and turns so as much as I loved the romantic suspense element it fell flat with the unlikable main characters and the easy to guess plot. I did enjoy some parts the background of Sloane's past etc.

I was really excited for this book based on all the reviews and the tik tik recommendations. But honestly it just bored the hell out of me from start to finish. It wasn’t what I was expecting. And no word of a lie, I knew who the serial killer was from chapter one. It was totally obvious and I don’t get how other people didn’t put two and two together as well? Even the twist with Morgan was easy to see coming from the beginning. This book could have been something entirely better but it just fell flat. Oh well. You win some, you lose some, I suppose.

Love a murder mystery? Love steam? Love a small town romance? Love grumpy / sunshine? Look no further than this book ...Two fantastic authors collide in the very best ways! Filled with suspense, steam, mystery, romance and all the feels ... I laughed, was frustrated, not going to lie even shed a small tear all while loving this book.I loved the character development of both Sloane & Lincoln (if you love hot & broody af he is your man).Would love to  read more by these two authors together and as separate authors.

Not quite what I was looking for, it was like 80% romance that sort of mixed with a very bungled crime thriller? I’m not sure the romance style was really my thing, and I knew pretty quickly who the murderer was so that side of things didn’t save it either. I’m thinking there might be a sequel with Alex based on the epilogue – I think I’d read that! Overall, this didn’t quite hit the spot for me.

Excellent romantic murder mystery with twists and turns all the way through.Nothing cosy about this book, a well crafted story which I enjoyed very much.Would recommend.
