Knee Walker With Basket - BodyMed ZZRWAL03 - Great Alternative To Crutches - Broken Leg Scooter - Steerable Mobility Device For Foot Or Ankle Injury

I was using my coworkers Knee Walker at work and decided to buy one to use at my house. What a difference! This BodyMed Knee Walker is so much sturdier and well built. The one at work felt like I was tipping over when turning. The only grip is that the turning radius is not as tight.

This knee roller has been extremely easy to use. I was worried at first due to a knee replacement. After my latest foot surgery with no weight bearing for at least 6 weeks, this knee roller is giving me plenty of mobility.I would highly recommend this product.

I recently had surgery on my foot and needed to be non weightbearing for a weeks. This knee scooter has been a life saver. It is so much better, safer, easier and a lot more fun to use than crutches. It was easy to assemble. It arrives partially assembled. You basically just have to attach the knee cushion and the handle bar and snap on the basket. I ordered an additional memory foam cushion from Amazon and my knee was never sore.It does not have a small turning radius but I think it is designed that way to provide stability and to prevent the scooter from tipping over. And you will quickly learn how to make multi-point turns to get around and to make tight turns. I had no trouble transitioning on and off of rugs and onto tile or wood floors. It feels extremely sturdy and well balanced when you are using it. The basket is awesome and really comes in handy, It is sturdy, holds a lot and stays securely snapped on the scooter. I did not use the scooter outdoors so I can not comment on how it handles on outdoor surfaces.The brakes are similar to the handlebar brakes on a bicycle and they work well. The only problem I had with this scooter and the reason I gave it 4 stars was the parking brake. I don't know if there was something wrong with the brakes on my particular scooter or if they are all this way...but the parking brake is extremely hard to set. To set the parking brake, you have to squeeze the brake handles very, very hard while pushing down the 2 silver locking buttons. It requires a certain amount of hand strength and invariably, after setting the lock buttons, they popped back up. I had to set them multiple times to get them to finally stay locked. And even with the parking brake set and locked, the wheels continued to slightly move when I was getting on and off. This can lead to a dangerous slip and fall from the scooter. I had to be extremely careful whenever I had the parking brake set. I tried to adjust the brakes following the instruction manual but it did not help. It's too bad because this would definitely be a 5 star knee scooter if it had a decent parking brake.

Need knee scooter for after surgery. First purchase larger scooter with larger tires but I was too short. I am 5'2 with knee on scooter my other leg was struggling to touch ground as I scooted. Lol. Disappointed that I had to return larger scooter. But so happy that this vendor had a mid level scooter and it is PERFECT!! It appears to be well made and assembly was easy. It is a little heavy but managable. Knee cushion was soft. The basket was the perfect size. So happy I found this vendor.
