Very Underrated Franchise!
First of all, I have not read books since I was a teenager. I plan to go back and reread them when I get some more time. However, just judging the movies with limited memory of the books, they are AWESOME!My ranking of the movies is:1. The Death Cure2. The Maze Runner3. The Scorch TrialsA lot of people say the original movie is the best, but from my understanding, it is because it is the most similar to the book. However, as I said with limited book memory I do not take that into consideration. The Death Cure is the best out of the three, in my opinion, because it is the movie that you see the most character growth, along with some other factors.*SPOILERS*What put this movie on top for me, was Newt and his relationship with Tommy and the rest of his friends. I usually highly rate a movie when it makes me feel some sort of emotion, and this movie does just that. I cannot watch Newt's death scene, or the ending scene when he reads his letter to Tommy without crying like a baby. Every time.Newt's character is fantastic, and from what I understand is more prevalent in the movies than the books, especially the Death Cure. This is an awesome trilogy and hands down, the best, out of the other book to movie adaptations of the time (I am looking at you the Hunger Games and Divergent). If you have not watched the movies, or if you have, this set is DEFINITELY WORTH IT.The Movies Anywhere code to get all 3 movies still works as of October 2021.And book readers, stop being so hard on the last two movies. Yes, they are not like the books, but they are phenomenal in their own way. RIP NEWT :(

Not perfect, better than most teen targeted sci-fi fantasy movies...
Hunger Games to Divergent, there was a bunch of teen targeted sci-fi movies that came out all around the same tame. Maze Hunter seemed to lack the marketing budget and production budget of Hunger Games, but with what they had they did way better than Divergent. Bang for the production budget, I think Maze Hunter did a better job than Hunger Games. If you enjoy dystopian sci-fi movies, this should be something you will enjoy. If you are looking for amazing story telling with great acting, well, you might feel letdown.I am thankful Maze Hunter does not hammer to hard on the typical teen targeted movie tropes, but that is not to say they are not there. It is just not as bad as Divergent. The acting is miles ahead of Divergent as well. If you happen to watch Divergent already and you think all teen targeted dystopian movies are the same, just know this is better than that. The are plenty of the typical tropes and physic defying moments in the movies. Things like military soldiers being bad shots when trying to take out one of the good guys. Things happen that would normally kill a person magically not killing one of the key characters. These are issues found in many movies, so should not be a deal breaker for most people.Maze Runner is the best of the trio. The other two are about the same. Scorch Trial did feel like it was stretched out just to help them make three movies for this series. The reality is they could have done the whole story in two movies without trying to hard.Bottom line here is these are entertaining movies. If you are the mood to watch a science fiction movie, you will likely enjoy these. It is not going to blow you away with amazing dialogue or super original ideas or scenes, but you do get some veteran actors which raise the bar a little for the niche film segment. The main character did a good job acting. Some of the other teens did not nail it or did good, but not great.Visually, the movie looks great in some parts and like a PS4 video game in others.Pacing can be off at times. I am not a fan of wall-to-wall action like Michael Bay likes to stuff into movies, but I still found it there were parts that dragged in these movies. It is not easy to strike that balance between actions and story

Generic and cliched, but surprisingly fun.
The Maze Runner trilogy is a weird one. That being said, I like it a lot better than the Hunger Games films. Sure, the Hunger Games has a far better premise, but something about Maze Runner sets it apart. Here are my quick thoughts on each film:"The Maze Runner" - A fun film that had a lot of intense scenes, interesting setup and ideas, and is held together by great performances. But the ending was the one part that I didn't like. Despite that, the film is a good start."The Scorch Trials" - Definitely the weakest in the trilogy. It's mainly just the characters wondering around and trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Nothing much truly happens that's interesting. The first film had an interesting setup of an entire maze, this is just pretty much a desert. I will say that the cast does a great job in their roles, and the ending scene does get me hyped."The Death Cure" - A far better improvement over the previous film and serves as a satisfying conclusion for the characters, but not the story. In this film, stuff happens and I like where the characters end up by the end. That being said, the story is nothing of importance and doesn't make sense (as does the whole trilogy). The only thing that kept me going was the friendship between the characters.Yeah, the main problem with these films is the story. None of it makes sense, especially when you consider how it started. The Hunger Games made a lot more sense and had better lore behind its history, but where it failed was in its main characters. I mean no offense to Katniss but I never really found her all that interesting. In Maze Runner, I liked Thomas and his friendship with Newt and so many others. I liked how he was always willing to save his friends, being somewhat of a leader who I would follow. And that's the Maze Runner's greatest strength that others like the Hunger Games, Twilight, Percy Jackson, and Divergent didn't have, likable and relatable characters. The only other series that has better characters is Harry Potter, and a far better story than all the rest. The Maze Runner trilogy is worth checking out, at least just once. So, I recommend it.I'll give each film a rating: Maze Runner (6/10) - Scorch Trials (4/10) - The Death Cure (5/10) The Entire Trilogy (5/10)

3 Blu-ray dvds
Blu-ray is great quality with sound and picture. The trilogy was interesting and well acted by all. Although I was confused why the main actor would still have feelings for the girl who betrayed them all. Other than that a good movie
