Beans72 Organic Aromatherapy Buckwheat Pillow - Travel/ Child Size (11 inches x 16 inches)

We have had buckwheat pillows in addition to regular ones for a number of years and decided it was time to freshen up. These new pillows are about 2/3 the size of the old ones (which already fit sideways in a regular pillowcase) but they are comfortable and support the neck and shoulder areas. I thought I'd be taking out a bit of the buckwheat per instructions after a trial period but am very happy just as is. I added a conservative portion of the lavender sachet and it is lovely. May add a bit more.An upside to the slightly smaller size I am adjusting to is that it is much lighter in weight and will travel with me with even more ease! I like it as a piece of home for comfort when hotel pillows seem a bit diminished in body. Thanks!

Don't get me wrong, the overall quality of the pillow case, buckwheat hulls, and dried lavender flowers was quite good!But the pillow itself was significantly under-filled by Japanese standards. Especially for those of us who like a slightly firm (but not hard) pillow. This is disappointing consider at $33 pre-tax for a small travel pillow, that the seller would not be so cheap as to cut back on the buckwheat hull filling. Especially since any others who prefer softer pillows, always have the option to remove hulls to their liking.Instead I had to purchase an additional bag of buckwheat hulls, just to get it to the proper firmness, which significantly increased the cost of this pillow.Save your money and simply buy a decent cotton pillowcase with zipper and the buckwheat hulls separately, and put it together yourself to the desired firmness.

The travel size is perfect for me. This type of pillow may work well for others, but not for me. I was so excited to try out my new pillow. I was looking forward to the soft shushing sound as the hulls conformed to my head filling in to the areas needing support. Tired, very much in need of restful sleep I lay my weary head onto a BRICK. I got up and removed hulls per the instructions. I carefully saved the hulls. Two nights later after removing literally a gallon of hulls the pillow was more managable or so I thought. The pillow now shushes nicely. Again I lay my weary head down fully expecting it to conform to my head. I was sadly disappointed to find my pillow is still a brick. I will not recommend the buckwheat pillow to anyone.

I ordered two 11x16 aromatherapy buckwheat pillows for my family. When they arrived, I thought the lavender was going to be to overwhelming for us and I was prepared to return them. However I let them air out and now they are perfect. I am so glad I did not return them. These pillows will be wonderful for our travels. I love the zippered cover. You can customize the amount of buckwheat hulls to your liking.

I have a standard size pillow but wanted something that would be easier to pack for traveling - this is perfect.
