First, I liked a lot because it worked perfectly with my 2021 Macbook Air just like my another Macbook Pro 2016 with the Magsafe adapter. After one year of usage, it started not recognizing and charging unless I push it really hard, and on top of that, I have to keep my Macbook nice and straight so the green light is on. Once I move my Macbook a little, the green light turned off and disconnected from the power and I have to wiggle and push in hard to have the green light turned on again. It seems to be a made-in China cheap material which would not last long. I would not recommend it but am not sure if you can find a good magnetic connector which can last at least few years or more.

Like many MacBook users, I was disappointed that Apple removed the MagSafe charging cable feature from their MacBooks in 2016. This product replaces that missing feature in an elegant and usable way.Positives:• Magnet force is perfect, snaps on and off almost exactly as the old MagSafe per-2106 charging ports did• LED indicates the connection is made -- again, just as MagSafe used to do• Build materials are high quality and feel up to par with the rest of the MacBook material choices• Doesn't block the second Thunderbolt port (for a standard cable connection)• The part that plugs into the Mac doesn't fall out -- it's snug, but can be removed with fingers when necessary.Negatives:• The piece that plugs into the Mac does stick out from the computer -- but given that there needs to be enough material for the two pieces to connect magnetically, that's probably unavoidable since this is an add-on type solution.Overall, very happy, and would buy again--almost certainly will, since we have more MacBooks in our family and this.

I was really happy when I received my cable... It came in a case which is handy given the magnetic attachments could get lost when tossing the cable in a bag. Using the case ensures you don't lose anything.The cable is very good quality but I have found the data connection is sporadic, with the connection being lost from time to time. This is a problem when transferring files but not when charging devices.Update - Reached out to seller and they don't think that the sporadic connection is a problem with the cable. Instead they suggested trying out different devices. Not very useful advice.

USB-C connectors seem to be more delicate than other USB styles, and the magnetic interlock protects the connector from accidental damage. My cable connects my laptop to a 100W block power supply, so there is something fairly heavy at each end and I have damaged several conventional connectors. I also got one for a friend who is in bed 24/7 and she, too, has damaged connectors as her laptop slid around on the bed. The magnets on the connectors seem adequate to hold it securely, but not so so tightly as to defeat the purpose. The cable is a little stiffer than I would like, but that’s what you have to have for 100W/5A capability.
