I destroyed a lighter and less expensive version. I guess I was using it on material that was thicker than I should have. So I have used this on a very heavy connection and it worked superbly. Highly recommended for heaby crimping and fine for light weight. It depends on what you need to do.

I bought thease for smaller guage wire. Have the ones you can set by tuning them there bad on 2 guage and below. They crimp on the edge instead of center. These crimp perfect all the way to 8 guage and do 1/0. Now I'm getting the one from 1/0 wire to 4/0 great for all size welding cable I use it for my 6 batteries to a huge car amp.

Just be cautious as not ideal for metric

I love this kit. I replace a lot of battery cables on big trucks, and this makes a good looking tight crimp, and it doesn't take a body builder to use. I don't like how the different dies just flop around in the case, but it's no big deal.

These things do the job . Time will ell how they hold up but been using them for a month now all good. I use them on aluminum crimps and copper battery terminals

I have several IWISS tools. I purchased another manual crimper earlier this year but I could not get good crimps from it. When I saw this IWISS crimper I quickly ordered it as I have had good luck with the other IWISS tools I own. So far I am very pleased.I needed to make a new ground wire for a plasma cutter. I am pleased with the crimps this tool made. The crimper left very small "wings" but they are not unusually large and the crimps looks very good. One thing I noticed after I made these crimps is that the crimpers mark the crimp with the size dies that were used. This could be useful for QA verification that the right size dies were used. It can also help you ID he wire size when looking at the crimps made by this tool.The case that comes with the crimper seems to be of good quality. The dies are well marked with AWG sizes. The wire strippers are not my favorite. It is very easy to cut strands of wire with them. I do not recommend using them.An easy five stars.

I've made my own battery cables for many years, but have always used the hammer-blow style crimper. Those work OK but they're a bit rudimentary and don't make the best looking crimps. Plus they leave the lug slightly deformed so that there may be a gap between it and the cable where the lug wall bulges outward on either side of the crimp. These crimpers solve those issues by make a clean, all-around crimp that looks great and locks the cable in an iron grip. I like that it comes with all of the different dies for various cable sizes, but I wish the case had a better system for storing the dies without them moving around inside so much. The case itself is otherwise sturdy and well made. The tool is heavy duty and up to the task of applying lots of leverage for those bigger gauge crimps. A tool like this might not be worth having around for the average DIY mechanic, but even if you only occasionally make your own battery cables it will pay for itself in saved time and reduced frustration.

This cable crimper works well with thicker copper terminals. The lighter, thinner terminals tend not to stay tight regardless of how tightly the tool crimps them (lighter terminals may work better soldered). This crimper evenly crimps all around the terminal for a good permanent set. Allows for a good heat shrink application. Worked well on battery cables and jumper cable wires to replace clamps. The stripper works well, too! Recommend!
