This was just what I needed..
With my 2014 Silverado 1500 being well loved before I bought it the spare tire release wasn't working anymore. So I found this one and it is very well made, it fits with the preexisting bolt and was very simple to replace. I took the old one out, put this one on and I was done.Using the release tool from the access hole at the back of the truck was simple and allowed for the tire to be put up and down with ease.

Heavy Duty - Working Well
Install on a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 truck.First picture is the weight of my original OEM hoist. And the next picture is of the new hoist. As you can see, the new hoist is heavier than the original one. You can crank the cable up just by turning the extension rod by hand without the lug nut wrench acting as a crank. At least until you hit the weight of the tire going up. I had no problem getting the crank rod to connect up to the new hoist crank mechanism, although it has less of a bevel on the front of the hoist crank. It didn’t seem to be an issue at all.My old OEM hoist mechanism was making a popping noise when I tried to lower the tire or crank it up. Penetrating lubricant on both sides did not help. It was not worth it to take a chance on not being able to get my tire down if I need to change it while traveling. I don’t believe you could purchase the OEM product anymore, but I have been happy with this product line and other parts they offer for my truck. The ratings and the number sold speak for themselves. And obviously this is a known issue with these hoist mechanisms. On YouTube they showed the 99 model through 2006 is the same item, but my hoist did not have the secondary safety latch that the other ones appeared to have. However, I highly recommend this product. And I’m very critical of the parts I put on my truck, normally only OEM.

Perfect Fit, Easy Install
Took all of 5 minutes with an impact driver to pull the old broken one and install this one. Fits great and does what it’s supposed to-hold the spare firmly/safely/securely without movement. Pretty thick quality steel as well.

Quality part!
Purchased and installed this spare tire hoist for my 2006 Chevrolet 1500 silverado because my factory hoist's cable failed while I was traveling down a city street a sent my spare wheel rolling down the road thank goodness it didn't hit any other cars now this part isn't an exact replica it has some differences that I lack the vocabulary to explain but I will say it seams to be built with quality in mind the steel is thick it's solid and the cable seems adequate it was fairly easy to install laying underneath the back side of my truck on my back.
