Gypsum Breaks Up Clay and More
Gypsum is a natural product from the earth. And I mix it with sand to break up clay soil. Gypsum is hydrated calcium sulfate, a soft mineral that is easy to mix with other soil amendments. I add it to fertilizers, to enrich garden soil. It is safe and effective ... harmless to pets, children and wildlife. Of course, you don't want to breathe in the powdery residue when pouring it. However, that is a common precaution when using garden products.

this softened and drained my hard mud like soil and added a good balance of calcium
Truly a Gem, this softened and drained my hard mud like soil and added a good balance of calcium, though I had to apply more calcium for my second crop on the pepper trees they did well the first round and made it to the second.
