So thankful for these!!
The media could not be loaded. First, I’m the #1 most suspicious person when I read glowing reviews. I’m sure the company wrote them themselves. There’s got to be something wrong - it can’t be all good. And I almost never take the time to write a review myself. But I don’t need to buy any more of these for a while (so durable!) so I wanted to do something to express my very real feelings about them.My whole hairy family moved into a house built in 1998, with the silly drains that pop up but don’t allow a hair trap. We were facing $1,000’s with a plumber to change all the drains, or have to snake them all the time - such a pain and bad for the pipes. I was stressing every time I took a shower, trying to catch my hair before it got to the drain. I was seriously sketching ideas to invent something myself!I enlisted my husbands help on this project and he ordered a couple things he found on Amazon. This Hairbine (what does that mean?) thing was far and away the best.I can take a shower stress-free now!! It catches hair (95% of it), whether it’s my daughter’s crazy long hair or my short straight bits, or my husband’s curly hair, or our dog’s silky hair (Shih Tzu). It traps all kinds of hair. It’s super easy to clean, and take off and on. It stretches over the plug and fits great. One tip: I would recommend that you take it off & pull the hair off each time you use it, give it a quick rinse, and set it upright or hang it to dry. Otherwise, the hair, soap, and water sit there and stew into a bit of a slime. It’s still easy to clean then, just more gross. If it looks like it’s turning a little pink color, that’s mold, so give a gentle scrub with soap and/or bleach product and rinse well. Also, it helps to use two hands to put it on the drain. These little thingies are super tough and durable. We ordered one for each of our three showers and they get lots of use. See our demo video. I’m just so grateful not to have to deal with hair clog worries!! Thank you guys!!

I’ve found it. The holy grail.
Ethnically being predisposed to straight and thick hair, showers have long since been a battle ground. I’ve been told that I shed like a Siberian husky to which my response is a battle worn “I know.”And I know all the problems that accompany attempts at a solution that don’t involve a whole lotta gross.First what led me to pick a pop up drain compatible hair catcher..- The pop up drain stopper is not removableThe old school method of sucking it up and unscrewing the stopper and removing the caught hair with all the protection of a tissue or paper towel.I have no clue who thought it would be a good idea to install a drain that doesn’t disassemble. It’s a rental so I can’t fix it. Yes, these situations exist in a place called hell.-Slow drain that gradually progresses to no drain.Where as normal disassembly and cleaning would solve the issue, this is not an option. Even if it were, better methods exist now. This wondrous creation has not missed a single hair to date.-Hair catchers with suction cups or no sort of stabilization mechanism. This thing has no lateral movement due to being snug and secure. Stepping on it, stubbing a toe (which doesn’t even hurt because it absorbs the shock) will not remove it, disrupt its function or damage it (I think. I’m not very heavy)-Hair catchers that are cumbersome to install/remove.Just make sure the right side is facing up and this thing idiot proof. Stretch the thing around the pop up drain and...you’re finished. There are no special instructions or tinkering to get it to work. Unplug and play? It’s broad disc like shape combined with its flexibility make it effortless to grab an edge and pull upwards to remove. Which is crucial for this design because it’s also how the hair is removed from it.- Hair catchers that come in kitsch colors, hideous combinations of metal/plastic/silicone, just look out of place or accumulate gross that will be harder to clean rather than buying a new hair catcher. The hairbine is clear and fits in with any color scheme. It’s a material that doesn’t have the soft texture of silicone or rubber so it’s not going to accumulate soap scum and grossness like those materials. It’s low profile and out of the way. Stepping on it will not become a jarring morning experience.Function 5/5It’s super effective.Aesthetic 5/5It’s not ugly, it’s not cute, it’s not plain, it’s gracefully inoffensive and stays looking nice.Maintenance 5/5Easy. Quick. Doesn’t require special tools. Just pick it up, grab the hair out then replace the hairbine.Price ...The amount of time spent reading this review and introspection assessing the monetary value you feel is appropriate to eliminate a daily and gross annoyance. For me the cost was higher from all the time I spent reading reviews of 20 other hair catchers on Amazon.3 month edit: It’s still amazing. 10/10. Would recommend.

Works well
We have a very tall pop-up style drain and this fits really well around it. I have long hair and it seems to catch most of it. I can tell that a few strands slip through, but overall I'm really happy with it.

Works a lot better than nothing
It restricts water flow really easily but it definitely catches a lot of hair

Easy to install
This is in my guest bathroom, it doesnt get used that much. But with that being said the friends that visit have lots of hair and I dont want to be trying to dig it out! It was easy to install, seems to let the water flow down the drain good. So far so good

Disappointed
Hoped this item would capture long hair BEFORE it goes down the drain. Have used for a couple months and the hair isn’t getting captured before the drain.

It helps
I have waist-length hair. Sometimes I don't catch them all in the shower. So the drain catcher catches most of it for me. The last time I cleaned it...there were some hairs that had made it past but was caught on the outside of the catcher. It's hard to said if it would have still caught my hair or not if it was shorter. That said, it is not conspicuous and it is catching my hair and my husband's shorter hair.

Works somewhat
Works somewhat but does not catch all the hair

Does not work at all on my drain
I ordered this with great hope. But it does not catch any hair at all, the design allows water to drain at the top of the pop up drain so completely avoiding the catcher parts.
