Beats out Baggallini!
Travelon did a great job with this purse. It's comparable to the Baggallini Securtex Anti-Theft Vacation backpack. I purchased both to do a direct comparison.Travelon: 12 x 11 x 3.75, has just one large compartment with 1 locked zipper (bonus in my eyes because there are fewer locked zippers to deal with!), with a flap over the zipper (which makes it look more like a fashion backpack); no exterior pocket for a water bottle, but it could fit inside the bag; does NOT fit an iPad Pro or 13 in laptop; the zippers are your typical Travelon locking zippers but have a more glossy finish that may chip over time. One of the straps can unlock from the backpack so that you can secure it around a chair, for example, and then lock it again. I would consider this a medium sized backpack, the kind you would wear for a day shopping trip.Baggallini: 13 x 10 x 3.5 inches; 2 locked zippers, 1 front pocket with unlocked zipper (which might be nice for easy access), and 1 front pocket zipper that goes through a loop as a deterrent; open pockets on each side, snug fit for a water bottle; fits a 12.9 in iPad Pro or 13 in laptop (but no padded pocket); most unique feature is that the credit card pocket is at back of backpack, so it's touching your back, making it harder for thieves to reach. I like this material (like a typical Baggallini), but it definitely feels less slash-proof than the Travelon). This is also a worthy medium sized backpack. If I could combine the best of both, it would be a perfect backpack! In the three photos, the Travelon is always on the left.

Great little backpack
Oh my goodness, I love this backpack! This is my second Travelon bag (my other is a cross-body). I love the anti-theft features. I bought this pack for a trip to Spain, wanting something sleek, stylish, and black in order to fit in with the Europeans and not scream "Tourist!" Mission accomplished. I felt very pulled together. I wore this pack every day with a black jacket so it was even less conspicuous. I never worried about theft because a would-be thief would really have to spend a few valuable seconds fiddling with the clasps and zippers in order to get it open, a chance few would take. If I had one complaint, though, it would be that the straps are a bit too wide. Sometimes, one of the straps would slip off my shoulder annoyingly. I saw that other reviewers had the same comment. It's not a deal-breaker, but it is a bit of a nuisance to me. I also saw that other reviewers commented on the metal chipping and looking cheap. I have had this pack for 4 months and have not noticed this problem. Overall, I'm really happy I made this purchase.

Chic and Deceptively Roomy
Bought this for a trip to Paris. It looks great, has a slim profile from the side, good inner pockets, and managed to fit a whole bunch of stuff: a small umbrella, an A4 notebook, sunglasses, cell phone, wallet, passport, and a few other odds and ends (with room to spare). Seemed pretty water resistant, as we were caught in a few showers throughout the trip and the inside was never wet. No theft attempts as far as I know, but the locking zipper is easy to use and you can hide it under the flap. The straps were comfortable and seemed sturdy as well. Overall VERY satisfied.

Great for the necessities
Great lightweight travel bag. Felt secure with the locking zippers and fold over top once I conditioned myself to use them.Pros:- Looks more like a purse than a backpack.- Fits an ipad in padded compartment- Holds the basics for a day of sightseeing: Camera, phone, water bottle, sunglasses and eyeglasses, ipad and small water bottle, small sunscreen, light sweater and even a couple of protein bars all fit nicely.- Found the internal key clip great place for small wallet with attached key ring.Cons:- Could use an exterior pocket on the back for the things you need to grab or store quickly but don't really care about losing like maps, tickets, sunglasses. Not a con, but be aware, this bag is designed more for day of sightseeing than a day of hiking. If you have to deal with packing meals, large water or planning for unpredictable weather, this might not be big enough.

Light weight and durable, look nice and low profile
I bought this to replace my existing broken belt K*** Sp*** nylon mini backpack (around 9x11 inches), that was not-durable (own it less than a year) and double of the price of this Travelon small backpack. This Travelon is light weight , water resistant, good stitches on the belt, can fit a 500ml bottle, a phone and a full size wallet, may be a scarf. Minimal design, gold button and zip looks nice.I also own a Travelon Anti-theft cross body bag (in black) for about a year, secure zipper and heavy duty belt, light weight, oversea travel. Had a good impression on Travelon product.

Broke after 2 trips
Though I loved this concept, the security features and size and was excited to use it for future travel... none of that matters if it breaks, which it did -- on the way to the airport! The main compartment zipper failed and seems impossible to fix, and the zipper wraps around so much of the bag it really can't stay closed and it useless without it working.

Great backpack purse
This is my second Travelon backpack. I have one in beige and just got one in black. Wears like iron and can hold a lot and can also become too heavy. I can only use a back pack purse so this one is great! It would be perfect if the top straps were closer together for slender shoulder individuals.

Had hope but isn't quite working out.
I like the overall style and size of the bag but the inside, though roomy and holds a lot, is rather floppy and unstructured. When the pockets have stuff in then, they cover the opening to the main compartment so I find myself having to stop, unzip the bag as far as i can just to navigate the bag. That's a bit inconvenient especially when you are just trying to access something quickly. Also the right strap always slides off my shoulder. Drives me crazy.

Great for Travel
I love this backpack so much and used it for 3 weeks in Europe last year then a friend borrowed it for her own 3 week trip. It has a low enough profile that museums will let you wear it inside and I never had to worry about theft on trains, metros or in cramped tourist spots. It carries everything you could need including phone, sunscreen, map, wallet, and a small water bottle (plus whatever other creature comforts you like). The only downside is that since I like to take a lot of pictures I ended up walking everywhere with my phone in my hand. I'm used to having a crossover bag for easy access to my phone but wearing a crossover 14 hours a day gives me neck pain. Can't fault the backpack for that though! I now use it everyday as my main "purse" because I love it so much.

A for everything BUT pick-pocketing
PROS:The bag is great- everything I wanted. 1. In-style, I especially love the rose-gold zippers and metal detailing. It's nice enough to make me feel trendy in Europe. The fabric seems water-resistant and is well made. The detailing is obviously coated and will definitely scratch and wear with little use, but I don't really mind. 2. Adjustable straps (YES they are adjustable, you just need to fiddle around a little). 3. RFID protection is great- (they're all marked with the black lines on top) they have one big pocket inside the bag for miscellaneous items, a second smaller pocket for phone I assume, and a third about the same size for passport maybe? 4. Slash protection from slash and go thieves 5. One strap can unhook to hook onto a table to stop grab and go thieves.CONS:If you're a nervous nelly like myself, you'll probably be afraid of busy areas and someone quickly and stealthily pickpocketing you when you're ooing and aaing over some artwork in a touristy museum. I really wanted a backpack to help manage shoulder pain and keep things organized on a day of touristy plans. I bought this one specifically because of its anti-theft features. However upon arrival, my inspection left me a little let down. I don't think I would feel comfortable putting my wallet or phone in here and be worry-free about someone pickpocketing me in that busy museum.1. The zippers "clip" together easily (good for ease of use but obviously BAD for deterring pickpockets)2. I found the expected place to clip the zippers too obvious (why would I clip the zippers on the side of the bag outside of the protection of the flap where everyone can see them for easy access?) To me, it makes the bag more secure to just clip the zippers together instead of onto the little hooks they provide on the sides of the bag, and cover them with the flap. That way, you get dual protection - one from the coverage of the flap and two from the zippers being clipped together.3. There is no way to lock the main compartment with a lock if desiring extra protection...All in all, I love this bag for all pros stated above, but needed to get creative in making it a little more anti-theft for pickpocketers. (I'll post pictures once finished with my project, if anyone is interested)EDIT**I carried this bag on a 2 month backpacking trip through ought Europe, and didn't get pickpocketed once. I used this bag daily, from Rome to Barcelona, Madrid to Lisbon, Poland, France, Croatia, Greece, etc. It held up amazingly (of course the gold-plating is scratched but what else would you expect). Also for extra protection you can hook a tiny travel lock between the two zippers. Get this bag! It's the perfect size for carrying a water bottle and souvenirs. All your travel buddies will want to put their stuff in your bag... which sucks but just goes to show how necessary this bag is.
