Appears "life-like" to some
I bought this as a present for my grandson. A grade-schooler who has decided he wants to grow up to be a doctor, and decided on first learning all the bones in the body. I decided to start him on the hand (those carpals are tough to learn!). Promised that once he learned the hand, I'd buy him a foot, and by the time he was out of high school, he'd have a full skeleton. He opened the box, and looked a little perplexed. He thought it was from a person, and not a manufactured model. He was afraid to "touch a dead person".But once he was convinced it was resin and not bone, he was up for learning. It's well made, and the muscle attachments are good for learning. However, I am a doctor, and therefore went through dissection class, and I'm pretty sure that even though my grandson will learn all the bones (and later other anatomical features) he doesn't have what it takes to get through dissection class. Sigh.

Light-weight, highly detailed model w/key; great for students & teachers + good price
This is a very good quality anatomical model, especially considering the very reasonable price. It is life-sized (cast on an actual human skeleton) and it has been assembled with tiny tightly coiled springs that allow for the demonstration of the different types of movement the hand and wrist are capable of. The model is mounted on a light-weight but sturdy base. The skeletal elements (distal part of radius, distal part of ulna + all of the carpals, metacarpals and phalanges) and their major features can be identified and the attachments of major muscles are shown (origins in red, insertions in blue). This is great for A&P students needing to learn not only the individual bones of the hand & wrist skeleton but how they articulate as well as the range of motion possible at the joints and the action of the muscles. A small key is provided but it is only about the size of a half sheet of paper, so the diagram is small and the printed terms are pretty tiny and hard to read, at least for me. The paper is thick but I will laminate it so it will hold up better. I do wish the key had been printed in larger format on a full size sheet of paper. The current price of $26.99 is very reasonable for this well made anatomical model. It is useful for students and is detailed enough to be used for teaching as well.

Economical Model to Use for Studying or Practice.
When I was younger and putting myself through college I sold bones to anatomy students. So, all I have to compare is the cost and quality of those bones compared to these. I can say that these bones are not quite as sturdy as those but then these are much less expensive. At these prices though a student or practitioner can afford to buy a few different sets such as elbows, knees, etc. This hand has a many small protrusions from how it was made that would need to be cut off or sanded to make it better. There are also some loose extrusions that can be just broken off easily to remove. Otherwise, this is a great economical hand model to use for studying or practice.

Detailed model of the hand skeleton; ideal for the medical student!
I got this for my daughter who is in a medical sciences program in high school and according to her, this this model is very detailed, very proportionally and medically accurate, as well as made of strong quality. It did not require any sort of assembly and just had to be pulled out of the packaged box.The hand is a bit flabby-like, but that is for the purpose of demonstrating the movement of the joints in the hand. The hand and joints can move just like a realistic human hand. The instruction manual, which is basically a diagram of the hand labeled with arrows and parts of the hand, is also medically accurate and goes down to every last detail of the hand. It describes that the red paint on certain parts of the hand skeleton are the muscle origins and the blue are the muscle insertions, as well as parts of the ulna, metacarpals, and phalanges.I would definitely recommend this product to any medical student focusing on the musculoskeletal system or is just interested in the human hand.

Great study tool!
Hands can be so tricky to learn about so this has been an excellent addition to help me study hand and wrist anatomy and biomechanics in physical therapy school. If you are a hands on, visual learner this model will help! It is very well made, full sized and the joints are flexible enough to help understand how the joint feels.

Cheap and light plastic
Not impressed with its cheap light feel

It's ok
Honestly expected a bit more quality, but it's not bad if you're a student and studying for a course.
