Family Read In
My son and I are reading this book together as a part of his 8th grade Family Read In event. I just wanted us to read a book together and so I didn't really care what we read. But I am so glad it was "Double Identity". The book is a quick, entertaining read and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I love the Young Adult genre and this may have been written just a tad younger than what I usually enjoy but I found it to be compelling and intriguing. We know right away that there is a huge secret in Bethany's family. Her parents are older than her friend's parents. They are driving away from home, leaving behind everything, in a parade of tears. She is dropped off to live with an "Aunt" she has never known existed. Her phone, her mom's and her dad's phones are all inactivated. As Bethany gets to know Myrlie, she also becomes acquainted with the town where her parent's once lived. Everywhere she goes, people stop and stare. "But she looks so much like...", "Its like seeing a ghost". Who does Bethany look like? What happened to her? What secret are her parent's hiding? Bethany's love for her parents doesn't waver despite all the questions and uncertainties in her head. Her desperate attempts at contact with her mom and dad are sad and almost painful to see unfold. I had plenty of guess about what the secret is. You THINK you know the secret but later on an even bigger one is revealed. This truly is a well written mystery. The only complaint I have is the story with the villain. The wrap up involving this third party was too out of the blue and all the pieces were tied far too neatly to be believable. To think that the secret was what it was, and that there would be no consequences from that...no fallout...was ridiculous. I know the book is for younger readers but even they are smart enough to know that the ending is too simplistic. Still a fantastic and fun quick read. I do recommend it.

Wow!!
I read this book before, about a year ago, and me and my sister were talking about it, so I decided to read it again. So I bought it on here (the first time it was from the library.) And I loved it! I'm glad I forgot most of the plot, because it being a mystery, I wouldn't like to know everything that happens. So it's about a 12-almost-13-year old girl name Bethany who lives in Pennsylvania. Then out of nowhere her mom starts crying all the time, and then they drive to Illinois and drop Bethany off at an aunt's house, who she didn't even know existed!!Then all this weird stuff starts happening and people look shocked and say she looks exactly like Elizabeth. She has no idea who Elizabeth is, or what happened to her. What follows is how she finds out who she is and uncovers the secrets of the past. You totally have to read it to find out the rest!!!I would recommend this to ages 10-15 because I'm 13 and I really liked it, and all of my friends are in the age range of 12-15 and all of them would love it (except for a couple who are guys and obviously wouldn't like it lol). Also a few of my friends have sisters who are nine or ten and they would probably like it to.So this is a great book, and you should really get it!! I got it around 12 pm yesterday, and now it's 9 pm the next day and I'm done. Oh and if you like this book you should check out Wendy Mass's books or Kate messner' s. They are really good.I hope this helped you in any way :)

An Exciting and Suspenseful Thriller!
The book, Double Identity, is an exciting page turner about a girl named Bethany whose parents mysteriously leave her at her aunt’s house for some unknown reason. While Bethany is there she discovered many interesting things about a girl named Elizabeth.Bethany meets many new characters who help her find her true identity, by giving her more information about Elizabeth.I would recommend this book to people who like suspenseful thriller, I liked this book so much that I downloaded another book written by the same author (Margret Peterson Haddix) called “Found” which is the first book in the series “The Missing”. So far this book is another thriller with many surprising twists which I am really enjoying.I downloaded both books on the kindle app for iPad. I liked using this app because it helped me when I didn’t know the meaning of some words since it has a built-in dictionary. There are also many other features such as the ability to highlight key phrases and important quotes , and it also shows what other readers have highlighted in a section called “Popular Highlights”. It also gives the title of the chapters, a section about the author, a page finder, and book extras.

Double Identity
Double Identity is a book about a girl named Bethany who is really spoiled; she is a tolerant only child. When she's about to turn 13 years old her parents start acting really strange. One day, they start a long car ride that lasts more than half a day. They arrive to a little, old, new town where Bethany is left with her aunt who she is about to meet. Her mother leaves her with lots of tears running through her face.Bethany is left in that house with no concentration or explanation. The only word she has heard lately and that won't come out of her head is "Elizabeth". She is very confused, and doesn't understand why people react so impressed when they see her.Nothing makes sense to her until the day someone delivers a packet to her with many birth certificates with different last names and from different states. And when a suspicious man comes to her to ask her some questions, she realizes she's not the only one who doesn't know the answers.I really liked this book because it is the type of book that you don't want to stop reading until you discover the mysteries. I recommend this book to people who like mystery and realistic fiction. At first i didn't want to read it, but once I started it, I got engaged to it and couldn't stop!

A Tense Page Turner!
I gave this book 5 stars because it is a complete page turner that left me hanging at the end of each chapter. Bethany is the main character of this story. As the story moves on Bethany is gathering clues about her family's past. One particular phone call gives her the main answer to all her questions! The title of the story is very compelling. The chapters look very appealing and make you want to read on. For me it was very hard to put the book down as everytime I turned the page I wanted to carry on reading! This is one of my favourite books ever! Not only how the story is built up but also because I have some things in common with Bethany.I would recommend this book for people aged 10 and over. As some of the vocabulary may be a bit hard to understand for younger people!I hope my review was very helpful and you enjoy the book!
