A beautifully inspiring short read, yet effortlessly everything you need.
I don’t normally leave reviews. Despite me being a pro Amazon shopper, I don’t tend to find purpose in most purchases I make on here. Perhaps that’s due to the many things I buy on here that are just things, that although serve a purpose don’t seem to resonate with me. Books have a way of losing me. Not in a bad way, but in a good way. Truly focusing on every word as if I’m living those stories. I’ve never read a book quite like this one. The incorporation of real life stories told by real women brings you closer to reality. Although these stories were theirs, I found myself in their shoes many times. I felt their pain, I felt their emotions, I felt their heartache. Dealing with depression and anxiety and having been through an emotionally abusive childhood that ultimately led to emotionally, mentally and physically abusive relationships. This book helped me in a way I truly never thought possible. As I got lost in the stories of other women for once in my life I didn’t hear people telling me “at least your situation isn’t so bad, look at what it could have been.” I heard positivity. I heard, “it’s time to heal yourself.” I heard a strength to overcome like no other and I felt beautiful. I felt hopeful. When I started reading I assumed that there’s no possible way this book will tell me anything I don’t already know. And it’s not that it did or didn’t. It’s that it taught me. It taught me how to look at situations differently. This book taught me that I’m not alone and I don’t feel alone with it in my home. It taught me to embrace my faults. Referencing back to this book is something I will do often. I will read this when I feel I need to be uplifted. I will learn to truly love myself and never forget what this did for me. That is the true meaning behind this book. I cried, I mean I truly cried. Not because I’m sad, but because I’m relieved. I felt relief from every single hurtful word that has been said to me that I’ve dwelled on, every argument in my past, every disagreement, everything that’s been eating me alive I felt a reason to let go. I have so much to look forward to and work on and this was exactly what I needed as a reminder to get out of my own head. Thank you Alexander. ❤️

Aspiring and Inspiring
A l e x a n d e r M c E w e n targets issues we as a whole face at some time as we venture through life as we know it!It is profoundly persuasive and on the grounds that it is intelligent it truly causes you to consider what was and think about how you can work on your regular daily existence from today forward.Oftentimes, individuals think taking care of oneself is getting a back rub and having your nails done or taking yourself out, however don't consider the wide range of various seemingly insignificant details we can do.The author doesn't lecture, or explain, or stop for a minute to expect - that is not his objective. He simply proposes his suggestions for you to take as you will which is the best thing, because you feel like his opinion isn’t forced upon you.I think ANYONE can benefit from this book, whether they've recently lost a loved one or not. Because grief is a part of life. It comes in odd shapes at odd times. Despite life's many joys, none of us will escape grief entirely - whether you've lost a loved one, a dream, a home, a job, a certain period of your life, grief is visiting you in one of its many forms. The book is beautifully conceived, written, and illustrated its also delightful, insightful, fair, and empowering. I can't imagine a person who wouldn't profit from understanding it because it tackles so many aspects of life. That’s why I highly recommend it.

For those who need to get back to the basics
Purchased to see if it would be a good gift idea for a woman’s group I belong to. Decided against purchasing more just because this is a bit too basic for them. Don’t get me wrong, this book will help many, the place my group is at is just different than what this book is speaking to.Good book for referring back to when your having difficulty loving yourself and when being reminded via the written word will work for you. Basics on self love, flipping the script on the negative things in our lives that get blown out of proportion in our minds and cause us to believe something not true of ourselves. Not real real deep, but simple and effective.

Self-love book
It’s a good book but it’s not at all what I was expecting. I thought it was about how to self love yourself not reading others stories on self love.

What a wonderful and easy read this was. This book is incredibly encouraging and inspiring. It is a great start to forgiving yourself as well as those who may have hurt you. This book has stories of women who are real. Women you feel could be your friends. Thank you, Alexander for writing this book. I’m so glad I took the time to read it today.
