This works perfect for WiFi and Bluetooth. The WiFi is fast and my AirPods sound as good with this as they do in my Mac. You can connect multiple Bluetooth accessories at the same time.

Since I dumped Microsoft spyware OS (Win10/11) and moved to Linux, everything worked much better, faster, more secure. The one thing that did not work was my big brand name USB WiFi device. Apparently they are too good for Linux. So I found this USB adapter and gave it a try. I plugged it in, turned on the computer and it just worked. Speed seems fine, I stream anything. Connects to every wireless device we have, old and new on multiple bands.

IT WORKS. PLUG N PLAY EASY. Okay, I bought used laptop to play with and had no Wifi. I impulse bought this USB WiFi thinking my laptop WiFi card died, when in between shipping, I completely forgot about the onboard WiFi on/off switch on the side. Doh!!!! Honest mistake. Anyways, I run both Mint and Zorin OS on my laptops, latest kernels as of June of 2024. I plugged this into my Zorin OS (version 17) and it sees it as a RealTek USB device and lists available networks, so it immediately works on these Ubuntu kernels upon plugging them in. It comes with a CD with drivers for Linux/Mac and Windoze. The Win drivers are for XP, so that's a dated CD! Nonetheless, it works on Linux. - For people new to Linux, always get a WiFi card/usb that is Linux plug-n-play. LIFE will be much easier when the kernels update, because it just works. Performing a huge list of SUDO APT blah.blah.blah is wasting your time. ThinkPenguin is another solid USB Wifi that works with virtually ALL versions of Linux just by plugging it in. Always go this route, it will make Linux smoother. Happy computing!

Been using this dongle for about a week now and it works well. On a Win 10 machine I didn't need to download and install any extra drivers like many small devices like this require. It was truly plug&play.Speeds are fast and up to the 5ghz standard, if it connects to that. I knocked one star off due to it wanting to default to any 2.4ghz band you may have available under the same WiFi ID. That could just be an issue on my end but even trying to force 5ghz it will choose 2.4ghz most of the time. However, it's not a huge deal when just browsing the internet. If using it for gaming or mass download, make sure it's on 5ghz if you also have a 2.4ghz with the same WiFi name (many stock routers automatically do this).

I have no issue with the performance of this device. It seems to have pretty decent range. I bought it because it was what I needed and it has an antenna extension, which should provide better range.HOWEVER, when you first plug this into a Windows PC it is recognized as a storage device. One of the options is to run the driver install program, which works fine. After that, the device is recognized as a WiFi adapter. Great. Except that Linux cannot run Windows executables.On my ChromeOS Flex computer, this device isn't recognized at all; not as a storage device or as a WiFi adapter. So it is useless for any OS other than Windows. It is not clear in the description that it works this way. It makes me wonder if the one that does NOT come with a "free driver" might actually work with a Linux PC.I should have paid closer attention to the option I had selected. If you're getting this for Linux, make sure you get the one without the "free driver". You won't need it for Windows anyway.Wish I had a do-over for this purchase. Used on a laptop where internal wifi device wasn't working. After inserting it to the usb port driver was installed in a couple minutes and it was ready to go

This Wi-Fi adapter is one of the few cheaper options that seems to work in Linux. The primary issue here is that there are no instructions included on how to load the drivers. However, they do supply the Realtek chipset model so you can google instructions. The driver is kind of iffy - I found I had to reinstall it at one point because I lost functionality. The speeds are lower than advertised. I was clocking around 60-70mbps on a 300mpbs line. Overall, it’s a decent option for the price but there are more capable adaptors available for a higher premium.

This item will flash blue if operated as normal.Perhaps this product is not linux compatible. I tried this product by downloading arbian to my orange pie. However, I could not connect to not only bluetooth but also wifi. Next, I tried it on orange pi OS (arch) and finally it was able to connect to bluetooth as well as wifi. As a side note, the official ubuntu image of orange pie 5 does not write to micro ssd and boot, so try to find a ubuntu image on github.Good luck!!
