Music sounds very thin and tinny, but that's not the point. The point is that you can clearly hear traffic and other sounds while also being able to listen to music, and it works great for that. Phone calls work ok, spoken radio or podcasts less so.I found the buttons extremely frustrating at first. There are a lot of combinations of different buttons or push lengths to do different things, but you eventually figure out the important ones. Don't throw out the quick reference.The battery lasts a long time, I'd guess 10+ hours. It's very comfortable, easy dial on the back to loosen or tighten. The voice chat between helmets works great. You can listen to your own music while on chat, but any noise will cut the music out for the voice, which happens a lot so I don't use that. You can't share the music you're listening to with a riding companion which is unfortunate.Finally, the little chinstrap adjusting clip that flips open to adjust and then you snap it closed - that broke sometime within the first year. Sena support had me send in the broken helmet and sent me a brand new replacement.Update - the little chinstrap adjusters broke off again, both sides. They can't be replaced.

This helmet is quite comfortable, adjusts well and stays comfortable after a long ride.Like most people I imagine, I bought a pair of these for their communications capabilities, which I see as three main things.1: Phone. This works well enough as a phone headset, it would be better with some voice command features, for example to answer a call by voice command. Aside from that the audio quality is good, the speakers are tinny but adequate, the microphone is good and wind/noise rejection seems to be good enough in most cases. When there is a lot of environment noise it can be tough to hear the call and the other person hears a lot of noise.2: Music. As others have said, the speakers are super tinny, with close to zero low-end response. I still like this better than ear buds so I can hear what's going on around me but still get some music as a distraction. If you expect good sound quality for your tunes, you're not going to get it.3: Intercom. This is the killer feature. We just took a 4-hour ride with the intercom on the whole time, and it was nearly flawless. Twice the audio degraded to the broken-robot state when digital comms get out of sync, but a quick disconnect then connect fixed the problem. The sound quality was plenty good enough the entire time except for those two times the things got out of sync. We were on mostly flat open terrain and the range went out to about a quarter mile without issue, beyond that it seems like we were stretching the limits.Summary: After 4 hours the battery reported 80% so more than adequate battery life, audio quality good enough for phone and intercom, but sorta crappy for music. The intercom feature is awesome. Overall highly recommend as long as you can live with tinny music. I can't give 5 stars due to the tinny sound, I'd give 4.5 if Amazon allowed fractional stars.Two things I'd like to see improved: sound quality, and firmware update from the app rather than having to use a computer with a USB connection.

Dieser Helm ist mit Abstand das beste Gadget welches ich je besessen habe. Meine Frau und ich machen regelmäßig ausgedehnte Fahrradtouren, oft kam es zu brenzligen Situationen weil ich immer versuchte neben meiner Frau zu fahren um mit ihr zu plaudern. Seit wir uns diese Sena Helme gekauft haben gehören diese gefährlichen Momente der Vergangenheit an. Die Sprachverbindung der Helme ist umwerfend gut, selbst wenn wir mehrere 100m voneinander entfernt sind funktioniert die Verbindung einwandfrei. Die Störgeräusche werden zuverlässig herausgefiltert, selbst bei Gegenwind ist die Sprachverbindung tadellos. Ich telefoniere eigentlich nie beim Fahren doch wenn mal einAnruf reinkommt drückt man nur aufs mittlere Knöpfchen. Ich kann diesem Helm nur die beste Bewertung ausstellen und würde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen.

I buy the sena m1 and my friend buy the r1 to we use when we ride.. is very good helmet and good quality.. vallue for the money i spend.. sound works very good and loud, intercom works perfect and easy to conection on your mobile phone buy Bluetooth... recomend this product to who likes listen a bit music when ride or be in intercom with friends with the same brand of helmet.. thanks guys..
