Replacement Washer Pump for Whirlpool W10276397

My family's washer (Whirlpool WTW5840BW0) stopped draining and this obviously wasn't good news. I thought we were going to have to get a new one since this one is old already (had it about 8+ years). I researched parts and saw that the one on Whirlpool's site was $180 so again I thought a new one would be a better option. I wasn't 100% sure that's what I needed and wasn't confident in my abilities to replace it enough to make that purchase. Then I saw this one on Amazon and after reading the mostly positive reviews I decided to give it a shot. Worst case I would just be out the $24 and have to get a new washer but best case it could be fixed and save us lots of money! When I got it I drained most of the water by flexing the hose around until it drained in the bucket. Then I leaned it up against the dryer to look underneath. I was lucky because the pump was super easy to access. I took a picture then used a ratchet to remove the screws holding it and a channel lock to remove the hose. Have a towel under it when removing the hose because water will most likely come out. When inspecting the old water pump I noticed there was a loose part when shaking it and that's when I knew I was onto something. I previously watched a guy on YouTube replace it on a similar model and his old pump did the same thing, which he said it shouldn't do. I installed the new pump, connected the wires back, and put some water in it to test the draining. PRESTO, IT WORKED! I then put a load through it and it worked fine with no issues. Super happy that I could repair the washer at such a cheap price! I can't comment on how long it lasts because it's only been installed for a couple weeks. Hopefully it lasts at least a year. I may continue to replace the pump or just get a new washer if it continues to be an issue.

Exact replacement for my Maytag Bravos washing machine. Replacement was easy - "remove and replace". All it took was a 5/16" nut driver, channel lock pliers, and about 10 minutes. Quite affordable, although I don't know how it will hold up over time!

Super easy to install, and solve the problem with drainage. Washer had a strange clicking sound and and wouldn't stop. When I put the setting to drain on the washer, it wouldn't drain. I bought this part and installed it and now it works great.

I thought I would need to buy a new washer. Turns out the pump was bad as it would. I longer drain water. Replaced the pump, took like 5 minutes, now washer has a whole new lease on life. Thanks to all that said it would fit my washer. Perfect!

J'ai acheté cette pompe de remplacement car la pompe sur ma laveuse maytag centennial a lâché. Un appel au détaillant de pièce pour m'inforner que la pompe se vend 168$ et qu'il ne l'a pas en stock. Je me suis tourné vers amazon qui l'offre à 50$. J'ai été agréablement surpris, l'article a été reçu en 2 jours et il est IDENTIQUE à la pompe d'origine, même sku, même compagnie. Changer une pompe sur ce type de laveuse est très facile, il suffit de retirer le boyau de renvoi et de retirer les 3 vis qui maintiennent la pompe. Ma laveuse fonctionne à nouveau comme une neuve!
