Beautiful, insightful, empowering
This book is an incredible gift to those looking to heal their relationship with food, movement, and their body. I saw a comment below about the book being "too political" but existing in a fat/queer body, or as a person of color in this society IS political. This book will help you make moves towards being more comfortable, safer, and more true to and trusting of your own body. I've read soooo many books on how to do this, and this book is by far the most impactful.

Incredibly insightful and healing
This book shares personal stories of those who have been harmed and shamed by the diet culture and ways to heal from the damage that has shaped Western society's perspective of the "ideal body" and "health." Incredibly insightful and beautifully written and researched, inspiring change and empowerment for all.

You can change your relationship with your body: This book will help
I took the body trust course with Hilary and Dana earlier this year, and was delighted to see much of the content in the course expanded upon and restated in this eye-opening book. True to their mission of fostering inclusivity and accessibility (which they write about throughout the book and demonstrate through the use of citing minority voices), this book will help you change your relationship with your body for the many people who cannot take their courses. The authors' focus on social justice and inclusion is admirable to promote healing around disordered eating and fatphobia. The way the authors write is compassionate and kind and while it may be similar to what other authors have written, their message permeated my disordered thinking in a way other authors have not. Their lessons on choosing self-compassion over self-hatred has been quite eye opening given the way they ground this kind of thinking in diet culture and helped me see it was not some genetic flaw I have. I will return to this book over and over, using it as a sourcebook to break my disordered cycles and patterns and help me find ways to use my struggles for social change. Highly, highly recommend.

Wherever you are in you journey, you will be transformed by the knowledge contained in this book!
I made my partner order this book, so I am using their account to express my gratitude and appreciation. I have read a few books about the toxicity of diet culture, but this book is so new and different! I am a dietitian and a social worker, and I feel so drawn to the work of dismantling diet culture and pushing toward fat liberation. It can feel so scary at times to push against the cultural narratives and stay the course. This book provides an amazing framework for doing this work at individual, community, and even more macro levels. It is exactly what I needed at this time, and I am looking forward to diving more deeply into Body Trust. My sincerest gratitude goes to the authors and fat activist that have put in the work to make the knowledge more available and accessible! I am definitely ordering a couple more copies to gift to my colleagues!

Free yourself!
After reading half of this book, I threw out 6 old diet books. Having dieted/over exercised/starved/weighed in/measured/and binged for over 40 years, THIS book is helping me to see the horrible things our culture has demanded of us (women in particular)...be skinny, be active, be "perfect." THIS BOOK opens up a "whole new world" of thought. I found it a great mix of the authors' beliefs, explanations, advice AND personal stories from patients. If you're tired (sooooo tired!) of trying everyday to eat "right" and push yourself physically (obsess much?) like I was and AM, read this. It's not magic, but it will start you on a better path.

This book is transformative!
For anyone healing from an eating disorder or for anyone really who has ever not liked their body (which is most people) this book offers a wonderfully necessary different way of looking at these issues. The author's perspectives are fresh, grounded in science and social justice and offer a way out of food and body image stuggles.

Conversations longing to be had are found within
This book is a timely read that helps contextualize the causes of disconnect we experience from our bodies and helps us reclaim a nurturing relationship with our selves. It’s steeped in advocacy and is a deeply personal reflection. Get ready to reckon with diet culture and attune to your own body’s story.

Simply Wonderful
I describe this book to friends as (and to quote another great book on parenting by Philippa Perry) The book you wish your mother had read, and your daughter (or son) will thank you for. If only I had had a book like this when I was a teenager. Simply brilliant. Can recommend their No More Weighting course as well. Thank you 🙏🏻
